I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

From small town ohio, edge of nowhere. Grew up hiking and camping and skiing and loving nature. skated through high school, ran CC and track. goofed off and got into some trouble. Great place to grow up in but great place to get away from. (Still love OSU football.) Went away to school in the upper left armpit of Ohio---Toledo. (not to be confused with the upper right armpit of Youngstown) Lived in T-town for nine LONG years. but i can't say i hated it. I met my best friends (glo included), my wife (glo included), opened my small town mind, had a blast in undergrad and studied anthropology, philosophy, ethnobotany, photography, chemistry and biology. inhereted a dog (by proxy) got three cats, learned to play guitar, played in a band, became a pinball wizard, discovered Phish, worked at Tony Packo's, got married and ultimately matriculated to medical school. then i met some more good folks, discovered disc golf, became a vegetarian, worked in a record store, worked in a photography shop, rekindled my friendship with syph, ran a small business, bought a house, got a second dog, adopted two more cats, got a girl knocked up (glo included) and had a son. then i got the F--K out of toledo. (Still love OSU football.) moved to western NC to asheville. Beautiful mountains, great liberal city, but still was below the Mason Dixon line (y'all) worked through the culture shock and religious shock (went from surrounded by catholics to surrounded by baptisits) enjoyed living here ( Of Course the year i move away OSU wins the National championship!!! ) I met some more good folks, hiked, got punished by residency, hiked, raised our son, hiked, played disc golf, hiked, went to the beach, hiked, camped, hiked, canoed, hiked, got a girl knocked up (glo included), hiked, got a job, hiked, and finally graduated residency. (did i mention we've done alot of hiking in NC) things have been great aside from the fact that we lost our first dog-child, sonic just over one year ago. he was the best american mixed breed (mutt) i've ever known. he was calm but excitable, loving but independent, obedient but ornery. we all loved him; me, gloria, jaden, keesha, odessa, othello, and tabby. (jezmund never really liked dogs after the fateful guiness incedent) I started working as a family doc in asheville and also work in an ER on the side for extra experience and cash. my daughter was born in january, 2006 and now the family is complete (except for sonic) still love nature, good friends, photography, playing music, phish, disc golf, pinball, reading, writing, my family (glo included), my animals, and life in general.

My Interests

see blurbs... about me ----

I'd like to meet:

It would be neat to put Wesley Clark, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, JFK, RFK, MLK, Abe Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, (and some other of the 'founding fathers") in a room with George W. Bush and some of his neocon cronies for an offical debate on today's American politics. (Bush's terrible speech writer's would not be allowed access) This should be mediated by Bill Maher who could interrupt and cut off anyone at will. Jesus, Buddah, and George Carlin should be guest speakers. Trey Stone, Matt Parker, Jon Stweart, Conan O' Brian, and Chris Rock would provide commentary and post-debate summaries. Of course I would be there to meet all said participants and would be allowed to add my own commentary at will. Bill Clinton will host the post debate party. (Paris hilton would not be invited.) This debate should be taped and played repeatedly in a picture in picture format during all televised NASCAR races, TV evangelist sermons, Walker Texas Ranger re-runs, and on both the county music network and Fox news.other than that, I would really love to go on a backpacking trip with Edward Abbey, see Miles Davis at rusty's jazz cafe, take a month long vacation around the world with Tom Robbins, and spend one night in Vegas with Hunter S. Thompson.

Music:

Phish, Ween, Wilco, MMW, Radiohead, Beck, Trey's band with the horns, antibalas, moe, miles davis, pink floyd, too many to list all.
