About Me

tunes and sunshine, STRICTLY TECHNICS ONLY!! and ableton mixing is off... vinyl over c.d's hard, and if you know the words, it's probably ordinary.. My absolute infactuation with every possible element involved in, including and to do with music is becomming of small concern (very small) the fact that I would rather chill at home and flick through old records, or recent downloaded gold, than go anywhere near a night club, or can be absolutely content behind my lovingly constructed turntable setup for an entire wknd, with nothing but a packet of cigarettes and a fresh green bowl is my idea of a constructive couple of days. It's not that I don't like going out, it's just unless I'm on the decks myself, I just get frustrated with the 'munta's' and kids and quickly retire to my own. Recloose? maybe, and don't get me wrong, I pounded my fair share dancefloors in my "previous to discovering Dj-ing" days, and it's not that I think I'm too good for it, I guess I am turning into a grumpy young man. There is just so much freedom, so much expression, identity, diversity, substance, so much heart, compassion, mood, soul, art, acceptance, release.. music can unite, heal, teach, describe, define, categorise, lift, animate, dull, soften, harden, wound, penetrate, shield, warm, chill, seduce.. theres not enough room on this profile manager, but I could so go on.. isn't it amazing how we can recall memories or events we have experienced, good or bad, at the subtle beat, or melody from even years ago, but without hearing that single beat, we would have left that memory tucked in some corner of our mind. So add trigger to the list. Nothing beats, dulling the lights, roling up, laying back (preferrably with a current romance) and just tokin, and not saying a fukn word for like 3 hours, just exchanging warm smiles of approval every now and again as you witness the hidden message reveal itself as it eminates from the speakers in a fuzy, warming mist of understanding, and enlightenment as you pick up what the music his putting down. In my eyes, theres no other form of media which stimulates as many senses and nerves at one time, whilst still maintaining that controlled dialogue which, for that moment, only you understand.. Some people have this diluded, un original, sheep like opinion of what they think they like or enjoy poisoning their audible orifice's with, the trouble is, most popular music is decided by 15 - 20 year olds, especially in sydney, and people only like the music they are exposed to either by the radio, or T.V, or mainstream C.d releases, which poses a problem for ones musical pallette, as they are still only listening to the chart toppers that little sally, and young tommy voted for on fukn pop idol, as soon as they got home from school! But I guess pop music does serve a purpose, it seperates those who can de-sypher and arrange in accordance with personal preferance, the code that is pushed on us from the speaker cone, or those who close there ability to listen, and just hear noise, and maybe tap a toe, or bounce a leg to what they think the beat is IGNORANCE IS BLISS Now I am far from trying to pass myself off as some kind of self appointed musical Einstein, but I have managed to form my own dialogue with the sound. It's no super advanced language, it lacks verbal lustre, and at first glance, may appear very primative, but it's all I need to communicate with the music, and we talk every day, exhausting all of my vocabulary, and fully testing all of my verbal capabilities, and what more than we ask for in a conversationalist but equal levels of mental understanding, and a partner who can catch you're ball, aswel as throw his directly into you're open and eagerly awaiting understanding. But hey, I guess theres always T.v?
