About Me

Jimmy Grant; originally a northern California native. He was brought up in a household full of rich musical influences ranging from bluegrass, country swing, jazz and the music of Django Reinhardt. Through his high school years he began to further explore the music of Django with fervor and determination. Painstakingly transcribing note for note solos from the great masters of the style began to increase of his knowledge of the gypsy swing genre. His unique talent has made him an artist at the very forefront of the gypsy jazz music scene in the United States. Not only being a soloist; he is also a accompanist and has worked with such artists as David Grisman, Ludovic Beier, Simon Planting, Tommy Davy, Wings of Swing, and the Hot Club of San Francisco.
