Band Members: Zim - short Irken invader who was banished to Food Courtia only to "quit" upon hearing about the Irken Empire's second attempt to gain power over all the universe, "Operation Impending Doom 2". (reason for banishment: ruined first attempt, "Operation Impending Doom 1") Main Character
Voice: Richard Horvitz
GIR - made from the spare parts of a SIR unit (Standard-Issued Information Retrieval) in a trashcan by the Almighty Tallests because they didn't want to waste a real SIR unit on Zim. They tell Zim that he is a "top secret model." He is easily influenced and impossible to fully control. GIR is made out of spare SIR parts, two pennies, a paperclip, a screw, and a pink bubblegum ball for a brain. Disguised as green dog with a zipper in the front. He occasionally reverts to normal SIR behavior, during which time his cyan robot components become red, these periods are, however, normally short-lived.(favorite show: Scary Monkey Show) Sidekick (evil minion)
Voice: Rosarik Rikki Simons
Dib - overhearing a transmission from Conventia, telling him of Zim's arrival to earth. Dib is the only one who sees through Zim's disguise. Dib's obsession with aliens brings others to believe he is crazy. He has a affinity for the paranormal and swears to being abducted as a baby. He tries to foil Zim's "evil plans" but he always fails. He also has a big head. (after the show was canceled Jhonen Vasquez drew one last picture of Dib holding a gun with Zim under his feet. The words "Zim is Dead" written overhead.)
Voice: Andy Berman
Gaz - Dib's younger sister and daughter of Professor Membrane. She wants nothing to do with Dib and his obsession with aliens. Her hobbies include playing Game Slave and eating pizza (Bloaty's Pizza Hog), everything else bothers her.
Voice: Melissa Fahn
Professor Membrane - father of Dib and Gaz. He hardly has any time to see his kids, as he is the host of the hit TV show Probing the Membrane of Science. He is also a scientist who has an affinity for toast. (firm enemy of Santa)
Voice: Rodger Bumpass
Miss Bitters - the teacher of Zim's and Dib's class at Skool. She cannot stay out in the sun too long.
Voice: Lucille Bliss
The Almighty Tallest - TREMBLE before the exalted rulers of the IRKEN EMPIRE! Gaze in aw at their astonishing tallness! Normally, only one Irken can be named as TALLEST, but since Purple and Red are exactily the same height, well, they both rule. The Almighty Tallest are jerks who love snacks! They send Zim to a faraway planet just to get rid of him and they gave him an "advanced" SIR unit, GIR, when really they just didn't want to waste a perfectly good SIR on him. (in the Irken race, your status depends on your height)
Voices: Kevin Mcdonald & Wally Wingert
Tak - irken invader who trained for fifty years on Devastis, the Irken Military Training planet, in hopes of becoming an Irken Elite Soldier/Invader. Zim, however, caused a major blackout by attempting to get a snack, traping Tak inside a transportation pod. By the time she was rescued, it was too late to take the test and she was then sent to planet Dirt, as part of the Janitorial Squad, to wait another seventy years. She escaped however and searched for Zim, the Irken who ruined her life. Upon finding him stationed on Earth, she blended in with the life forms creating a false father, President of Deelishus Weenie Corperation. Along with her SIR unit, Mimi, she fails in trying to distroy Zim and turn the whole planet into a "snacking" planet to pleace the Tallests.
Voice: Olivia D'abo
Influences: ♥Jhonen Vasquez says he made the episode "Bolognius Maximus" because he wanted an episode like The Fly, only stupid.
♥Writer, Eric Trueheart stated that if Zim had gone on longer, Dib eventually would have found out he was actually a robot creation of Professor Membrane.
♥Jhonen's favorite episode of the show is "Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars."
♥The credits of Intestines of War (the movie Gir watches in "FBI Warning of Doom") supposedly originally contained some "sexually explicit language" when it was first storyboarded. It was immediately changed and one of the names was replaced with "J. Duffi," which is the name of one of the crew members of Rugrats, and other Nickelodeon shows.
♥The boy in the video that Zim shows the RoboParents in "Parent Teacher Night" looks oddly like Timmy Turner.
♥Zim has starred in the Game Boy Advance game Freeze Frame Frenzy (look in the backround of the picture) and in the Xbox, PC, and Gamecube game, Nicktoons Party Blast.
♥The last episode aired on Nickelodeon was "Battle of the Planets" on May 1, 2004 (as part of a special block featuring many cancelled nicktoons
♥Richard Horvitz, the voice for Bugs Bunny-in a lot of the recent looney tunes- and the voice for the Red M&M actor, was originally cast to provide the voice for Zim on the series, but the part was given to Horvitz instead
