Gregory Lynn Hall, Southern California raised, has had a long history in the music industry in all areas from studio work to live shows. Gregory’s first main Musical influences were Motown Artists(Gregory says the first 3 albums I ever owned were, The Temptations, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and The Ventures. Gregory started off his music career singing gospel songs on his grandma's piano bench singing with his two cousins. Gregory says "I remember all of us squeezing on that piano bench and Gram teaching us harmonies when I was three years old." As an instrumentalist, Gregory started playing drums at age five and soon moved on to guitar a couple years later then eventually bass and keyboards. After being in a few bands in the 70s, finding his nitch in the late 70's Gregory helped polish the band Rat Sally in the early 80's and pounded the Hollywood scene playing all the rock venues from Gazzaris to the Troubadour and the Country Club, playing gigs with bands like Poison, Ratt and Warrant, hanging out with the Hollywood crowd including, David Lee Roth, Vince, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee from Motley Cure and the whole Rainbow crowd. In 1984,after doing showcases for Warner Bros.,Geffen,etc.. and on the brink of landing a Major Recording contract Gregory found out that his mother had Cancer and had 2 years to live."Gregory says" I didnt know what to do,here I was at the door to having my dreams come true,I was torn at first, But I knew I couldnt go any further, I wanted to do the right thing,so I quit the band and took care of my Mom,It was a blessing.Sadly in 1986 Gregorys Mother passed away. Not too long After, the Seattle sound started creeping in and changed the whole music industry, Gregory left L.A. in 1987 moved to the Midwest where he found many new opportunities in Nashville Tennessee. Gregory became a well sought after session vocalist singing on many well known Christian Artists albums,Including Carman, and also became one of the most sought after jingle, Commercial Vocalists in the Midwest region with many local and National jingles under his belt. In the late 90's Gregory returned to California and found himself reuniting with his former band mates from Rat Sally and going in the studio to record a new 4 song EP, following that, a reunion gig at the world famous Pelicans Retreat in Calabassas CA in 1995. Gregory kept busy doing session work for the next few years. In 1999 while doing a session in Malibu for world famous producer Chris Julian, Gregory met Roger Scott Craig and was asked by Roger to do some demos and the rest is history. The Demos were sent out to Europe and they had a Record deal, and "101 SOUTH" was born. Shortly after the first 101 South album was recorded and released in (2000) with no tour planned to support the album, Gregory was asked to join the band "HEAVEN AND EARTH" (Stuart Smith, Ritchie Onori, Kelly Keeling,Claudio Pesevente), as their bass player and toured with them to support the "Windows to the world" album, culminating with an "All Star" casted show for the orphans of 9-11 at the Key Club In Hollywood(formerly Gazzaris).
