HOLT C TEAM WINS CHAMPIONSHIP! The Holt C High School Hockey team took on Edwardsville for the Thompson Hockey League C Championship and came out on top in a thrilling game in Kirkwood!Edwardsville came out fired up and ready to roll. After Holt being whistled for an early infraction, Edwardsville scored the game's first goal on the powerplay in the first two minutes of the game. That didn't last long as Holt's Will Simmons tied it up shortly afterwards with an unassisted goal. The remainder of the first period and the entire second period resulted in no more scoring. During that time, the game was back and forth with both teams getting chances to take the lead. In the third period, Holt's Ryan Grass scored the go ahead goal with an assist from Conner Hales. Just a few minutes later, Conner Hales scored an insurance goal with assists from Dylan Conway and Ryan Grass. This would prove to be the winning goal as Edwardsville scored another powerplay goal with less than 3 minutes to play to cut the lead to one and make the finish of the game very exciting. However, with strong defensive play and Jalan Jaskot playing huge in net, Holt was able to hold on for the win. Final score: Holt 3, Edwardsville 2.Congratulations to all the C Team players for an excellent end to your season!
