About Me

About me...what can i say...i guess I am a nomad on this earth - I've been uprooted so many times that i've learned to make my home wherever i go. I don't really have a nationality as such - part of my family come from Mozambique and have been there for over 400 years..my passport is Portuguese but i was born in Lesotho, lived a few years in South Africa and have now been living in London for the past decade...and who knows, this may not be my final destination.....we'll see! I believe in a world without borders - it may sound like the ramblings of a flower child but fat good they've done us. When we finally all realise that we are all made of the same stuff and we cannot really survive without one another...and that separation leads to isolation which leads to suffering...well...when we finally all realise that, what a wonderful world it will be. And i really believe we can get there!!!

One of my main passions in life is music - i'm in a band called The Empties - http://www.myspace.com/emptyempty. Our band is a complete fusion of live instruments (guitars, bass, vocals) and electronic drums, keyboards, effects...we have a very folky, rocky, trip-hoppy, reggae-ish, danc-e sound that's impossible to label!! We're just interested in doing something completely new and original, whatever it may be. Also, everyone in the band sings, plays guitar, bass, keyboards and tweaks cubase and VST - we interchange instruments between songs... PLEASE HAVE A LISTEN AND LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!! :) One more thing to say is that we love collaborating with other musicians so if you want to get together sometime for a jam, just let us know!!!

I am also very family-oriented..i live with my mom, brother, sister and 7 yr old niece in a big old house in South London. I don't know what i would do without them....

Peace and Light...

A favourite poem..

Ryokan was a 17th century zen hermit, living in Japan.. i love his poems, they are truly 'of the moment'...sometimes like him i wish i could disappear into some forest far away from here, spend my day...
