Born in Brooklyn, NY to Jamaican parents, Jason Hall has always had an affection for the spotlight. Although music was not his first love, he excelled in sports as a young boy and always dreamed of playing professionally in one of his favorite sports, basketball and soccer. At age 9 Jason relocated to Jamaica with his family and found what was to be the foundation of J Bean$ "the rapper", the streets of Kingston. It is here he was introduced to another side of life, the streets.Jason did not plan to be in the music business , in fact , he enrolled at Emory University in 2001 to pursue a degree in Economics. Quickly becoming a well-known face on campus for his ability on the field, on the court, and in the club and classroom with the ladies. It was not until his third year did he begin to record his first songs only by accident. A fellow class-mate who had left school to pursue music, Haze Music CEO
Ikedichi Mills, used Bean$' dorm room to keep his pro tools recording equipment and microphone. This was the birth of J Bean$.J Bean$ got his first taste of the music business in late 2004 with the hip-hop band HAZE, made up of friends from Emory. From his very first performance he knew he had found his calling and began his journey to the top of the hip-hop world. After a year stint as an MC with the band , J Bean$ had a tough decision to make. He could either hang up the pen for good and continue with his education , or dive head first into the much more competitive underground Atlanta rap scene. It did not take long for J to make his decision. In late 2005 , Bean$ began making the beginning of what will be a much-anticipated debut project due out in 2007 with the indie-label Haze Music Company. The project will be the first full length release from the Disciples , consisting of J Bean$ and Mr. CG.2008 promises to be a big year for Bean$ and the Disciples, who are gaining momentum by making appearances at underground events like a president on the campaign trail.J Bean$ and HAZE MUSIC 2 names 2 look out for in the '08Just don't tell em we told you so.
