About Me

Originally called HADOKEN. Formed in 2001, Oz ( Oscar Cassidy : producer, musician, turntables, occasional vocals) added to his life as drummer/ percussionist (Rubberneck, Thomas McRocklin, Smoove Live, Inbreed, Skinner, Jimi Jukka, Calcius) and turntablist (Calcius, Wac MCs/ Kid Capricorn), working in a more independent electronica fashion, rather than full band action.
Oz began writing, performing and producing a pile of music from straight up hip hop through prog rock, ambient, messy electronica and jazz. Regular collaborations with multi- instrumentalist and younger brother Athol Cassidy (Calcius, Sultry Nathan, Skinner, Richard John Thompson, Washburn/ Ibanez endorsee) and occasionally collaborating with other musicians, vocalists and deejays. The name was later changed to OUTGROUP as an alternative to using the same SF2 samples over and over. Cue digging through video cassettes of documentaries on evolutionary classification for soundbites...
OUTGROUP are currently putting out some releases under UK based STROPIC Recordings (www.stropic.com) and perform live with various line- up mutations. From full live band, through solo laptop based sets, to nobody there at all.
Oz sometimes can sometimes be found deejaying hiphop/ electronica/ drum&bass/ indierock/ theusual/ theveryunusual. Try "ozadelic at hotmail dot com" for more info about OUTGROUP or DJ sets.
Recently, OUTGROUP has got a bit of a reputation for remixing. To hear some unique ruining of other peoples' music, check out the OUTGROUP (REMIXES) myspace page by clicking this link:
