About Me

Engine Room of the Apocalypse

And so it came to pass, as was prophesied the apocalypse approached. Delivered not by the fortold four horsemen but by a great arc. The Arc of the Apocalypse. Out there, somewhere over the horizon through the fog and the rain steams a vessel driven by passion and by pain. It's mission clear, its objective dread awaiting a signal, a code, a number 666 digits long, the apocalyptic number. All systems on the vessel are set to automatic, the weaponry is armed and loaded. Then there is a message to the Arc of the Apocalypse from afar... To the centre of all systems a noise a series of notes, a million long each sequence corresponds to a number, the sequence of destruction. The countdown to the apocalypse.... The systems hear the notes and translates them to numbers that encode the launch procedures... the Apocalyptic code! Meanwhile in the Engine Room of the Apocalypse the Kaptain has ordered full steam ahead. We stoke the boilers and raise full steam ... and we hear the notes... ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------The Engine Room of the Apocalypse is an England based three piece heavy prog rock band. Spanning the void between death metal and prog rock. Standard line up includes Guitars/voice, bass and drumsSet up to save the sanity of its members, destined to spend the best years of their lives towing some sort of corporate line. Well bollocks to that! The Engine Room of the Apocalypse offers audiences a chance to step aboard the good ship Apocalypse and to stoke the boilers on a one way voyage to confusion and oblivion.Injustices and paradoxes of the world drive the lyrics, which have been described by our lawyers as being "dubious/risky" Unlike many bands you will be able to hear them. .........Boss suits in a line remind us of forgotten times, on the roads their cars flash by, and in the air the swastika flies again!......We are held bent on growing old disgracefully and playing a few loud and furious gigs so that everybody else can get the vibe and set sail into seas of delirium.A very loud prog rock band, believe that a million notes are not enough! Gratuitous solos are the order of the day. NO nice prog here, it's all gritty surreality. The guys can play their instruments so watch out for some showing off!Very few bands today really get the audience going, this is our objective: to have a really good time and to get a lot of people to join in the music by shouting and screaming and to enjoy, just once, letting it go!We encourage binge drinking by our audiences. They usually oblige. So come along freak out and get hammered.Created with mySpace Profile Editor

Band Website: erota.co.uk
Band Members: Left to right:Iain "Wine Bar" Young: Percussion. Guy " Gumbo" Willetts: Bass. Neil "WiLF" Willetts: Guitar & Voice.
Influences: Early Cream, when they had Marshall stacks and took lots of drugs. Hendrix of course, whose dad Al said to WilF "hello, who are you?" he was a nice guy. Black Sabbath, Toni Iommi told WiLF to turn it down when in LA for the NAMM show. He's a good guy too! Really liked him modest and chilled. As was Noel Redding who described Gumbo as the world's "Second best" bassist Other bands have influenced our stuff all sorts of prog and rock stuff from the 70s as is necessary Black Sabbath, Rush, ELP, Pink Floyd, Hendrix (obviously) and ACDC a bit, but also Joy Division, Cure and cold wave 4AD band Mass amongst others. We just got sort of pidgeon holed as a Shred band, not that we sound much like your average Death Metal band NO we are more like the final devolution of 70s prog rock bands
Sounds Like: Some say a bit like Cream when they had Big Marshalls and took lots of drugs. We think....like nobody on this earth! Think Solos, think freaking-out audiences, think ringing ears. A million notes is never enough but we'll get in as many as we can. Enjoy the tracks.
Record Label: Recently signed for massive deal
Type of Label: Indie
