About Me

Ryan Hittel, currently residing in Calgary, Alberta, was born on August 1, 1976 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Growing up, he developed a love for music while playing the tambourine during band practice for his Dad’s old time country music band. At age 19 he was handed a microphone at a karaoke house party and realized he could sing. That same year, his Mom brought home a $10 guitar from a garage sale. This began Ryan’s musical journey.University consisted of weekend acoustic concerts playing to everyone who would listen. In 2003, Ryan connected with an established band who was looking for a new lead singer. This connection quickly turned into a successful group named Slipstream. They played top 40 country and pop/rock covers of old and new. It was during this time that Ryan starting writing songs going back to his country roots. After 3 years and numerous amazing gigs, the group went their separate ways. During this time off, Ryan continued to write songs. In April 2008, Ryan attended the Academy of Country Music Awards show in Las Vegas. "That awards show changed my life! Meeting so many artists and industry people who were so friendly and willing to shake my hand……talk about motivation!” That motivation & inspiration led to many new songs! His musical influences include his Dad, Garth Brooks, Paul Brandt and Big and Rich. And the rest as they say, with a bunch of hard work and dedication, will one day be history!!!To contact Ryan: Email [email protected]
