I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm in my 30's now. I think it's important to step back occasionally and evaluate the direction your life is heading. This year I intend to do just that. I (mostly) enjoy my job, but don't plan on working retail forever.... it'll do until I figure out what I want to be when I grow up, though. Working in a bookstore is perfect since I love movies, music and books and oh so much more! As for the whole MySpace thing, I'm not really looking for anything specific other than to keep in touch with friends and to maybe meet some interesting new people. And now I'm on facebook too! (I think it's WAY better than MySpace.) Find me here:

My Interests

Things I LOVE: rainy days, Pearl Jam, baby animals, spending time with friends and family, painting, being outside under a shady tree watching clouds roll by, my iPod, a good cry, a great book, going to concerts, football (specifically OU and KC)and an amazing movie in a cool theater on a hot summer day.

Things I don't love:
mean people, most vegetables, being stuck in traffic and/or road construction, moving, people blowing at or on me, insomnia, yardwork, Raiders football and messy eaters.

I'd like to meet:

Pearl Jam. The Dalai Lama, President Clinton, Kevin Smith, Jim Carrey, and Oprah. Eddie Izzard would be good too.

Music:

Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Beastie Boys, NIN, Beck, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fiona Apple, Nirvana, Tenacious D, Gravity Kills, Depeche Mode, Mozart, Idlewild, Rilo Kiley, The Shins, The Doors, The Beatles, The Beta Band, Air, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Jack Johnson, The Clash, Green Day, Death Cab for Cutie, R.E.M, Scissor Sisters, They Might Be Giants, Rage Against the Machine, Thievery Corporation, Richard Cheese, James Taylor, Gomez, Guns N' Roses, The Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, Pink Floyd, Rufus Wainwright, The Black Crowes, Remy Zero, Franz Ferdinand, Elvis Costello, Aphex Twin, Beethoven, Coldplay, Ivy, Elliott Smith, Snow Patrol, James Brown, Le Tigre, Roisin Murphy, The Ramones, Simon and Garfunkel, The Velvet Underground, Nick Drake, Ween, Zero 7, Weezer, Postal Service and many more!

Movies:

OK, so I like a lot of movies. Someone once told me my "filter" was way too big because I like such a wide variety of films. Even so, I present to you a very large (but not all encompassing) list of some of my favorite movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Fight Club, Lost In Translation, The Royal Tenenbaums, Broken Flowers, Chinatown, LOTR, Mallrats, Bull Durham, Happy Texas, Sideways, The Cider House Rules, Garden State, 9 to 5, Chicago, The Matrix, Rushmore, Goodfellas, High Fidelity, Good Will Hunting, Finding Neverland, Big Fish, Bottle Rocket, The Godfather, The Fifth Element, My Cousin Vinny, The Usual Suspects, The Cable Guy, Young Frankenstein, South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, Bambi, Shadow of the Vampire, Secretary, 12 Monkeys, The Big Lebowski, Requiem for a Dream, Basketball Diaries, Brokeback Mountain, Edward Scissorhands, Half-Baked, Spider-Man 1 and 2, Star Wars (Episodes 3-6; skip 1 and 2), Miller's Crossing, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Office Space, O Brother Where Art Thou, The Tao of Steve and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Television:

Let's see. I love Grey's Anatomy, The Office and My Name is Earl. I think Scrubs is one of the funniest sitcoms ever made, but Seinfeld is the absolute best! Reality TV isn't something I ever thought I'd watch, but I got hooked on Project Runway and Dancing with the Stars. Oh, and the best new show on TV right now is The Riches.... and Pushing Daisies. You should check it out.

Books:

Lamb, Shopgirl, The Pleasure of my Company, The Secret Life of Bees, The Lovely Bones, The True and Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters, High Maintenance, The Nanny Diaries, Going Down, Shopaholic series, The Art of Happiness, Siddhartha, the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime,The Devil Wears Prada, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, A Prayer for Owen Meany, Pride and Prejudice, A Seperate Peace, Ishmael and oh so many more. I am especially fond of Christopher Moore, John Irving, Emily Dickinson, and Edgar Allan Poe.
