Evervess EP 2 now available from Purr Factory Records:
Reed and Joe have been playing together forever. Eric is the smart one. John used to be in some band called Shadows of Knight who were supposed to be kind of famous, but none of the rest of us have ever heard of them.

"Boys, are you even old enough to have Nowhere in your CD collections—because this is the damn closest thing to Ride I’ve heard in a long time (with a little Swervedriver thrown in). Tremolo’d guitars? Check. Loads of drum fills? Check. Reverb dripping from just about everything? A big, fat check to that. Could this be the start of a new generation of shoegazers? Perhaps. It’s just too bad Creation Records folded in 1999."

Thanks so much to Kelly Davis and CityBeat for that! (And, uh, if by "boys" you were referring to us, well, we all do have have Nowhere in our CD collections. In fact, Reed and Joe saw Ride on tour. In 1991. And John...)

"If you didn't make it to the Casbah last night, you are almost forgiven because it was butt ass cold, but you missed a decent show.
Evervess was on first. Eric of Swim Party is a member of this band. If you're into shoegaze, Evervess is for you. I had flashbacks of high school and loving bands like Ride and Swervedriver which is pretty fitting since they are the first two bands listed as their influences on their MySpace page.... Grinding guitars and one of the biggest drumkits I've seen any local band use with the dreamlike singing of both guitarists and the bassist coupled with the lighting effect of projected liquid and I was back in 1991, and for me that was a good thing. Troy Johnson commented to me that the 90's are coming back, and I say better than the fucking 80s. Just don't start pulling out your flannels..."
