About Me

If God does not exist, one will lose nothing by believing in him, while if he does exist, one will lose everything by not believing.
-Blaise Pascal: a physicist, a mathematician, an eloquent publicist-- a Parisian.
I'm a Libra... what can I say...
I happen to be diplomatic, refined, intelligent, thoughtful, warm, and have a humble social nature. I tend to be a romantic and some may say I crave relationships. I enjoy an idealized meeting of minds in an atmosphere of civility, refinement, and reasonableness. I do not place as much importance on deep emotional intimacy or physical passion. I enjoy comfort and luxury in my life.
I have a strong sense of justice. I carefully weigh opposing sides of any issue and am keenly aware of other people's preferences.
I like to take leadership roles, I also have a need to be fair and my tendency to please everyone equally can sometimes make it difficult for me to make decisions...
I will allow myself to be a peacemaker or "diplomat" who desires balance and harmony in all situations and will do almost anything to avoid confrontations.
I am an American-born Haitian.
- no nonsense brother
- determined man
- old school Haitian dating guru
- reader of philosophical thought
- good listener and frank conversationalist
- concerned counselor
- wannabe clinical neuropsychologist, civil rights activist, scholar of Biblical texts, one of the champions of Haiti.

Please if you would like to befriend me, send a message or I will delete you from my friend's request list. Thanks.

When a man gets to despair he knows that all his thinking will never get him out. He will only get out by the sheer creative effort of God. Consequently he is in the right attitude to receive from God that which he cannot gain for himself.
Chambers, Oswald on Adversity

My Interests

- having honest and open conversations - writing poetry - reading African historical documents and Caribbean affairs - listening and learning about others and their life experiences - exceling my relationships with others and God - trying to be considerate of people and their lifestyles - growing spiritually - attempting to get fit, but (sigh) school and life in general is just getting the way-----I like to work out - my brain through stimulating conversations and reading books on poetry and history, philosophy and religion and my body through daily pushups and situps, a few runs and a bit of weight-training... I also am a amateur belly dancer and poet. Interested in learning capoeria angola, a Brazilian martial arts dance originating from the western part of Africa and in my later career, writing newspaper articles/songs/novels on life. Becoming a spoken word artist is also a distant goal of mine. Right now, I'm focused on school and finding those that love me and those to love in return. include reading Greek philosophy and the Bible, enjoy CourtTV and learning about civil rights issues and cases, watching comedy acts and documentaries, meeting people from various backgrounds, being informed of the Pan-African affairs, reintroducing myself to piano playing after a 10 year hiatus, being a saxophone and violin enthusiast, potential salsa dancer, understanding sexuality in terms of fetishes and sexual preferences...finally, learning more about Haiti - my parent's homeland and my personal inheritance. Also attempting to resolidify my relationship with God.

I'd like to meet:

a variety of people... who are interested in learning from each other and living with each other and loving one another...- in those who are willing to achieve their goals----- - able to acknowledge the wide range of differences that mankind has------ individuls that take each day to better themselves and their situation by a balance of checked ambition and wise patience------ God-fearing brothers and sisters-----People I can get along with: - young colored ladies with good looks and high aspirations (can cook, too)------ honest brothers with open attitudes and respectful mannerisms.

Books:

"The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction.... The chain reaction of evil — hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars — must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation."--the late and great Martin Luther King Jr. in the Strength of Love (1963)

Heroes:

Cesar Chavez... Mexican American farm worker, labor leader, and civil rights activist who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers. Supporters say his work led to numerous improvements for union laborers. He is considered a hero for farm laborers, and opposed both legal and illegal immigration to help keep wages higher and improve work safety rules. He is hailed as one of the greatest American civil rights leaders. (cited from wikipedia.com) Fred Hampton God... Jesus... My parents... My grandparents... Gandhi... Malcolm X...
