ABOUT CHRISTMAS INSTITUTE: Christmas Institute, or C.I., is a 5-day Christian retreat which traces its roots from the Philippines. C.I. in the United States was first established in Southern California during the early 1980s. Lead by young adult and Pastorial leadership, C.I.'s goal of bringing Filipino-American youth closer to Christ is established. C.I.'s growing popularity in So-Cal branched out to Northern California, as Fil-Am churches from cities like San Francisco, Vallejo, Sunnyvale, and Fresno held its first Christmas Institute in 1986.
============================
NORTH | SOUTH | EAST | WEST: Bound by the love of knowing Christ in their lives, Christmas Institutes united several times over the years. In 1987 and 1989, a joint-C.I. with Northern and Southern Californian delagates converged in Los Angeles' Camp Colby. In 1991, Northern California hosted a joint-C.I. at Camp Sugar Pine in Oakhurst, California. The biggest co-venture between Filipino-American United Methodists: Christmas Institute 1996, "Be Strong, Be Courageous," was the very first national C.I. uniting Fil-Am delagates from California, Washington, Chicago, and Texas. • CONTINUING HIS VISION: Now in its 19th year, Christmas Institute of Northern California continues sharing the life of Christ with Filipino-American youth and beyond. With a foundation of faith, love, and a rich cultural and Christian heritage, Christmas Institute has made its way into the hearts of today's youth, melting boundaries set by difference, and ensuring that the vision set forth by Christ is a reality.
I LOVE C.I.
