NATIONAL league American Football is set to return to the county for the first time in 13 years.
The Bombers train each weekend and play at RAF Cranwell, drawing players from all parts of the county and beyond.
Now the Bombers are looking to increase the size of their playing squad, and have launched a recruitment drive.
And they aren't just looking for lumbering giants! Offensive linesman Tommy Mitchell explained: "We want to hear from people of all sizes and current fitness levels who are interested in taking up the game, and those who have played before and want to return.
"A lot of people who like the look of the game are put off from giving it a go because they think they are not big enough - but there are team positions for all types of players.
"For example, receivers need pure speed and good hand-eye co-ordination rather than muscle. We have a fitness and condition coach, and we can have recruits fit for action when the league starts in the Spring. We are also looking for enthusiasts who could help us off the pitch on match days. Former players who can help with coaching would also be welcome."
Gridiron first came to Lincoln in the mid-1980s, and the Bombers competed at senior kitted level between 1987 and 1989, and also had a youth side which played for four seasons up to 1991. The Bombers played in the UK American Football League Conference, the Budweiser League Division One Central Conference and were champions of the CGL Duke Premier Northern Conference.
Lincoln Saints played in the British National Gridiron League in 1992 and 1993, won the First Division Bowl in 1993.
