About Me
As you can see, I'm not really 39. It's a Jack Benny reference. 39 was great for me so I think I'll just stay 39. The fact that I used to actually watch Jack Benny on programs such as The Dean Martin Show or Bob Hope Specials is a good indicator that I'm not really 39! One great thing about being older...I got to see XTC live onstage and interview them before Andy chucked in the touring thing. Kinda makes life complete. Check out their stuff sometime! I like learning and evolving. I like interesting conversations, and I like to listen. I'm trying to really listen to people now, because I've noticed that a lot of people turn each conversation topic into something about, or bragging about, themselves. I don't suffer stupidity well. I like interesting music and love to suggest and share when people exibit a curiousity beyond the usual pabulum, but I don't push. I love to laugh and make others laugh. If they don't get it, well,... I thought it was funny. I'm not religious, although many of them have some good tenets for civil interaction that are based on common sense. The seasonal winter and spring celebrations made more sense when irreligious and pagan. This doesn't mean that I don't like religious people, as long as they're not pushing it my way...I just don't understand why people choose to become dogmatic over some supposed afterlife and program themselves to believe that it's emphatic truth. We honestly don't know, so let's just be civil and loving during the lifetime we're given...it is possible. I have learned a lot and am a reasonably happy person. I don't like aging, but I'm accepting it. I keep holding out for that miracle pill...you know, the one they'll discover just after all my cells disentegrate. I like good friends who love to talk about an abundance of...well, everything. And last but certainly not least, I'm very proud of my boys...they're pretty awesome guys. My wife helped to instill the study habits and aspirations for success, and I contributed to their love of music, guitar talent, and wanderlust. I like people who...get it.
