Next Up:
A PLUS D are internationally celebrated DJs whose BOOTIE is the world's most successful mash-up party with outposts in SF, NYC, and LA with outings in London, Munich, and even Beijing. Needless to say they aren't doing JUDY vs BOOTIE for the money! They DJed for Tingel Tangel Club in SF, and it was a great fit. They got to spin some of their favorite mixes and tunes that don't necessarily fit the BOOTIE format, and the crowd danced harder and longer than ever. They just celebrated the 2-year anniversary of BOOTIE Friday night at BLVD, and without missing a beat they're coming to Williamsburg to spin with DJ Ben Haber and DJ Belukha from "Judy, Darling." With performances by Max Steele, Hey Willpower and Mikki and Richard this promises to be hot, sweaty night of dancing and debauchery. Don't miss it!
I've also been spending a lot of my time and creative energy on a show called Weimar New York which began at Joe's Pub in March 2006 and has played the Spiegeltent in NYC the past two summers. I recently presented two editions of the show at SF MOMA on February 13 and 14, 2008. The show was hosted by Justin Bond (Kiki and Herb) and Ana Matronic (Scissor Sisters). In April I presented 4 back to back performances of the show in Los Angeles as part of LA Art Weekend.
Most recently, in celebration of Joe's Pub's 10th Anniversary, presented 2 election-themed editions of the show on November 1 and 2. The shows were hosted by Scissor Sister Ana Matronic (Nov. 1) and Lady Bunny (Nov. 2)
You can get a taste for the show by watching the New York magazine video from the August 28 edition of the show below:
