About Me

I write songs, sing, play and compose soundtracks for TV programmes, film, commercials and new media etc. Recent projects include music for the forthcoming 'Rivers with Griff Rhys Jones' series (BBC1/Modern TV); scores for 'Ross Kemp on Gangs - Kenya special', and the two 'Ross Kemp in Afghanistan' series' (recently nominated for BAFTAs), scores for the new children's ITV series 'Bookaboo', title music for BBC’s World Cup cricket coverage, a score for the Channel Four film 'Who Downed Bader?', the new theme for BBC1’s 'Panorama' with David Lowe, a bunch of children's songs for Five’s 'Milkshake' show and album (Sony BMG) with Will Slater and instrumental music for KPM/EMI with Ruth Barret and Rob Kelly. My music and sound design covers most styles including classical, jazz, dance/electronic, acoustic, world and ambient. I love working with with orchestras and live musicians and I'm equally happy geeking out with production and programming in my recording studio in central London. For the record, I can sing and play flute and I know my way around keyboards and guitar. Before I hit on composing as a fulltime thing, I spent time as a music journalist and as a producer for TV and radio, mainly at the BBC.I've an album of songs coming out later this year, mostly written by me, but with lovely collaborations with great folk including Jim Lowe (producer of the last four Stereophonics albums), Simon Changer and Charlie Wood.More about me: I was born in Dublin to an American father and British mother which means I hold US and Irish passports. I've lived mainly in London, with a bit of New Orleans and Dublin in between times. I'm enjoying writing songs and soundtracks both solo and collaborativelly - with people here in London or virtually with friends across oceans. Always up for new collaborations!
