[50 Years Ago] I was created by Professor Gerald Robotnik . I was Created as The Ultimate Life Form and the Ultimate Wepon of War. Im an ultimate immortal , that means my body, spirit, mind, and personality will never change. I was Project Shadow my purpose was to Bring Hope To Humanity, Gerald made me hoping that through me,"the ultimate life" he could find a cure for his granddaughter Maria's Neuro-Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Failing to develop a successful version of the Ultimate Lifeform on his own, he turned to Black Doom, leader of the Black Arms alien species. Using Doom's blood, he was able to complete his process and create Me, and at the same time it granting me some measure of Doom's immense power. However, when the experiment failed to produce Maria's cure and Gerald learned of Black Doom's malicious intentions for Earth, I was modified so that when the Black Arms eventually returned, I would be waiting to defend Earth from them. I was Created on and spent all my time on Space Colony ARK. This is where i lived with Maria and Gerald. I dont remember much about this period of my life however i know that i was very close to Maria She was like my sister, and we shared the same dream to one day visit Earth. Unfortunately, G.U.N. thought that Project Shadow deemed too big a threat to the world and as a result, they decided to eliminate everything that has any relation to the project, including the people living on the ARK. The tragedy struck quickly, as the government task force knowen as G.U.N. violently raided Space Colony ARK, They were so consumed by there fear that I was not in there control that they kill many innocent people while trying to find me. By the time Gerald found out what was going on it was far to late i ran with Maria and we tried to escape but, Maria was shot and killed by a G.U.N. Soldier. As she was dying she trapped me in a hidden escape pod, Her last parting words were "Bring hope to humanity shadow.. and give them a chance to be happy" and i promised her Id make her wish a reality. Maria then shot me off the colony in that escape pod. It didnt do much good, once on the Earth G.U.N quickly found me and put me into suspended animation. Many people were killed among the ARK that day. With Maria's death and Gerald's arrest, I was left full of anger and bitterness toward the Humans. In my Rage i became easily manipulate able ...i forgot my purpose and my Promise to Maria. Professor Gerald managed to reunit with me before his execution. Gerald went insane when the news of Maria's death reached him. He had also ler the rage inside him cloud his judgment. Gerald decided that every human deserved to die, so he started to plan a way to extract his revenge on all the humans, and in his plan he gave me a new purpose: to avenge Maria's death by activating a wepon apon the ark that was capable of destroying all the humans that took everything away from us!When I was awoken nearly 5o years later by Eggman in a top security G.U.N. base. The first thing I told him was to collect all 7 chaos emeralds and i would help him rule the world. My plan was to hold the world hostage with a long forgotten weapon that was build secretly on the A.R.K. Code named the Eclipse Cannon. The only thing i could think about was to avenge Maria's death. I even made myself believe that i made promised Maria that i would avenge her bye killing all the humans. In my hunt for the chaos emeralds I ran into a blue hedgehog named Sonic and ended up getting him framed for my crimes. Later after collecting all the emeralds and meeting Doctor Eggman on the A.R.K. Prof. Gerald's plan went into play ...instead of the eclipse cannon firing and Eggman holding the world hostage.. the entire Ark started falling to earth ...with the power to kill every living thing on it ..while this was happing i was on the ARK along with Sonic and his friends...they were trying to stop the Ark from crashing to save everyone....i didn’t care I was happy to know everyone would be killed ...then a strange thing happened ...a girl named Amy Rose came to me asking me for help..she told me about how I should just give the humans a chance...and to forgive them...that not all humans are the same...and when she said that...I remembered the true promise I made to Maria that i would protect the people of earth, to let them be happy, to give them a chance. So I decided to helped Sonic by fighting the Biolizard witch was in sonic's way. After fighting the Biolizard it then merged with the Ark using chaos control and started pulling it towards the Earth. So then sonic and i went into a super form using the power of the 7 chaos emeralds. We defeated the Biolizard then rushed towards the tip of the Ark witch was still heading to earth..to stop the ARK I had to use all of my strength.. and i ended up teleporting the Ark safely away from earth. I lost my strength and fell to the earth. I kept my true promise to Maria and that’s all that mattered..I blacked out...
Time passed I can’t really say how much. I was presumed dead by most, but rediscovered by Rouge while she was sneaking around the inside of Dr. Eggman's base. The Doctor had put me into suspended animation inside a large locked room and hidden me in his base far underground, However Rouge still found me. When she tried to wake me up like last time I suffered from amnesia and would unexpectedly get confusing painful flash backs of prior events. The moment Rouge woke me up a Robot by the name Omega who was also stuck in the room started to attack. I quickly took action and move Rouge out of the way. Then I rush at Omega, but before I killed him Rouge stopped use both.... She then started to explain what was going on. We were all going after the Doctor ...maybe for different reasons, Rouge for riches, Omega for revenge, myself for answers, but we still made a deal, to go as a group and find the Doctor. In are search for Eggman we ran into a few groups of people none important other then sonic who I barley remembered at the time…. While chasing Eggman I also found destroyed robotic copies of myself lying around. When I finally got to Eggman along with sonic, his friends, and a few others we were on one of Eggman,s many large war ships it turned out to be a huge waist of time, it wasn’t Eggman at all it was only a metal version of sonic posing as Eggman...It simply wanted to kill sonic to prove it was better so I was uninterested and I left most of the work to sonic and the others they ended up beating it.... but I quickly went back to my search and went into one of the Egg Fleets battle ships...inside there were thousands of robot clones of myself....I left but I couldn’t stop thinking about if I was truly myself, the real shadow...or a simply another copy... when I left Omega destroyed all the fakes. I then split up from the group… and went of on my own....
After awhile of wandering alone going from city to city i found myself outside of ...Westopolis (start of Shadow the Hedgehog)
