Love Lies Sleeping was formed in Los Angeles, in late 2004 by the reverend Christopher Watson (former singer/songwriter/guitarist of Hotel River). After having disbanded Hotel River, Watson began writing a series of new songs and looking for the band that would help him bring the kind of life to these songs that he envisioned. He found what he was looking for in the talents of Ethan Alexander, Wes Thompson and Charlie Wadhams.By the time Love Lies Sleeping emerged from the studio onto the Los Angeles music scene they had created a distinct style of their own which quickly gained them a local fan base, and one night caught the attention of Ima Robots Alex Ebert. Impressed by the bands sound, which brought to his mind elements of The Pixies, the Doors and Richard Hell and the Voidoids, he asked to record them.Love Lies Sleeping once again returned to the studio, this time to be recorded by Ima Robot. Their first album (self-titled) has just been finished and is now being played on Los Angeles independent radion station, Indie 103.1.The band will be touring Ireland and London this summer.
