Music - major part of my life
I'm a walking jukebox. Music goes through my head most of the time. Some song that I like.. with all the instrumentation. I sing and play piano and keyboards. Though classically trained, I tend towards teaching myself music by ear, usually some creative form of jazzy or prog rock that I have on the "b" side of my albums. My singing career stems from singing in a community boys' choir to high school and college and sundry church choirs to madrigal groups to a vocal jazz group to choruses on stage - i.e. the Nevada Opera Chorus. Among my musical goals is to do more composing as well as arranging.

Esperanto - an invented "bridge" language for international use
Esperanto is a constructed language created in the late 1800's by a Russian Jew, Ludvig Zamenhov living in Poland in a town with deep cultural and linguistic divisions. Being a high minded idealist (kind of like me), he invented a language with mostly Latin and Germanic root words and with a simple, streamlined grammar. Visit http://www.esperanto-usa.org and http://www.lernu.net for more info.
For those who are curious to know more on the "what" and "why" about the invented international language of Esperanto, here's a short promotional video about the purpose, life, history, and usefulness of the language as a "learner-friendly" bridge language for the world. I wasn't involved in the making of this video, but I think it's well made. I offer my help in learning the language, so feel free to contact me.

Before you say, "There ought to be a law..."
Here below is a video that eloquently outlines the basic "laws" of liberty - in terms of rights and non-rights. It's a wonderful line of logic. In a nutshell, whatever freedoms you expect for yourself, you must respect the same freedoms for others. Also, whatever rights and privileges you instinctively expect for yourself over what you own, you must also honor for everyone else over what they own. Check this out. You may find it to be an eye-opener.
