Let's see... besides that... here's me: I LOVE WFTDA ROLLERDERBY. Besides skating, I swim at Barton Springs or Deep Eddy Pool or Hippie Hollow almost every day....all year long. I also Kayak up to redbud island or on Lake Travis all the time. I also love hippie festivals...reggae fest, Bob Marley fest...you name it. Cliche but true--My friends & family mean the world to me. Here we are-- me, Alison, my sister Denise (the blonde) and the cousins...

I am a badass at pool. I believe it, anyway. Random ToMcAt trivia-- I played violin in middle school, and competed in the Danskin womens triathelon- and kicked ass in the swim. I can scull. And dig a pond or fire pit in your back yard... And do most home repairs.
I have a talent for getting free lap dances. Sometimes from "dancers"... sometimes from rollergirls. :) Sometimes, oh hell...the line gets kinda blurry... Maybe it's the magical power of our hot tub. Whatever, I don't question my good karma...

I have been a Texas Rollergirl since the new concept of all-women's flat track derby was hatched in Austin-- Specifically, I was first an original Hellcat way back in tha day, (this was us filming the "Say Something Nasty" music video with Nashville Pussy........WAY out in danm near Dripping Springs in some flimsy aluminum warehouse...then this huge storm came up outta nowhere, there was almost a tornado that night-- we all thought we really might die... and yes, those are real, thank you!!! :) Here.....WATCH IT for yourself!!!

Anyway, until 2007 my life has revolved around derby since the whole damn thing got started way back in what, 2001?...Proof that destiny exists-- Alison & I had just bought our house in East Austin, when one evening around midnite we heard music coming from a nearby party somewhere in tha 'hood. We looked at each other, & said to ourselves..."Hmmmm. That is neither gangsta' rap, nor tejano....we need to find that party...!!!" So we grabbed a 12-pack from our fridge & commenced pied-pipering our way across the 'hood. ...down Bristol, across Haney, South on Dorchester....and then-- Voila-- Party at Sparchelle's house!! Keep in mind now this is before we knew of rollerderby. We walk up to the door, and introduce ourselves. "Hi, neighbors...!"
We are welcomed in with open arms by rollergirls & sk8tr boys galore, and ushered back to the party barn, where there is one of those boxing practice punching stand thingys. I am about 5 beers & god knows what else into the evening, so I take a whack at it--it promptly goes over. Sparkle asks me if I can do that on skates. I am confused, but say "sure". I am informed to show up at the rink the following Wednesday to prove it. The rest is history...:)
ANCIENT history...THAT sure is an old pic, eh? Wow ... I have a hard time admitting it but I retired in 2006 after my 5th (?) season.
