About Me

Music, art, and performing have always been a part of my life. It's challenging to post all the crap I do online, especially in the little boxes of the internet such as myspace, but I love myspace for it's an easy way to connect with the world and be inspired by the real artists that exist in the world and not in radio or magazines. This page was intended primarily for my music and dj stuff, but has expanded to incorporate my writing, photography, performance and drawings. Enjoy.
Originally from Chicago, Cenzo began sneaking into dance clubs at the age of 15 and began his club career as a light/visual tech. at Trax, Phoenix, Az. in 1992. Working with renowned Minneapolis dj Andrew Gage and dj Jim Fowler gave cenzo a desire to play for a crowd. Cenzo and dj Andrew Gage were nominated for best lightman/visuals and best dj for Phoenix,Az 1992. dj cenzo debuted (as DJ Housecat) in November of 1993 at the Incognito Lounge, Phoenix, Az. In 1994 his residency began back at Trax until 1998 where he then took up residency at Harley's Club 155 West through July of 2000. Cenzo moved to DC at the end of July of 2000 and focused on production and remixes for local DC acts, gaining acclaim and recognition for his productions at the Kennedy Center and guest dj'ing at local clubs. At the end of 2004 cenzo resumed his writing skills and pounced on the spokenword/poetry gig combining spoken word and house (spouse). Since 1993 through today, he has performed at many venues in Phoenix, DC, Chicago, New York, Alabama, Philladelphia, Greece (Athens, Mykonos), Italy(Rome, Capri), Brasil(Rio de Janiero). Absorbed in House, latin, tribal, disco, electronica, jazzanova, Dj cenzo continues to combine his talents in music production, poetry, and multi-media design.
