About Me

GLP is a producer and DJ that plays drum and bass (D&B) and dubstep.

I’ve shared the bill with artists such as Sigma and DJ Pdex. I’ve also DJed for a variety of non-D&B acts such as Enter Shikari, Florence & The Machine and The Metros.

As well as making music, I write for Kmag – formerly Knowledge – the world’s biggest selling drum and bass magazine. The ‘Diary of an Unsigned Producer’ blog which you see above is my regular column in the magazine. I also write music reviews, equipment reviews and features.

I’m currently working on a collaboration with DJ Pdex, and remixing tracks by Beatloafe and Small.

Please send me a message if you’d like to book me. Also please get in touch if you’ve got an idea for an article in Kmag or fancy a general chat about making tunes.

Diary of an Unsigned Producer part 10 Finishing tunes

Being a perfectionist can be a disadvantage as a producer. If your standards are too high, its more than likely youll never finish a tune. Hours can be wasted searching for that perfect, elusive sam...

Diary of an Unsigned Producer pt 7 - Expensive Gear

The one thing my home setup lacks is a decent pair of studio monitors. Since I started I've been producing and mixing down tunes through a pair of (decent) hi-fi speakers. It's far from ideal. Identif...

Diary of an Unsigned Producer pt. 6 - Keeping things simple

Making a tune from scratch is a big undertaking, especially as a solo producer. You've got to write a bassline, compose some kind of melody or riff to fit it and then structure the tune so it's got an...

Diary of an Unsigned Producer pt. 5 - Making tunes work on the dancefloor

It's the ambition of most drum and bass producers to hear their music played in clubs, but for this to happen their tune has to work on the dancefloor. This means it has to have a regular bar structur...

Diary of an Unsigned Producer, Pt.4 - Dubplate

It's time to cut a dubplate. Nothing beats having your tune embedded in a slab of vinyl. Cutting a dubplate is no longer a necessity cd decks and Serato saw to that but it'll always be a pleasure....
