REST IN PEACE, BRUNO
For those of you who don't already know, Fatal Shore singer and frontman Bruno Adams died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Saturday morning, 18/4/2009.
Bruno had been battling cancer for five years with all the strength and courage he could muster. But in the end time ran out, and he passed away at home in Berlin, surrounded by his family and close friends. Although in great physical pain, Bruno never once gave in to self-pity or despair. He loved his wife Katka and his three children with a depth of passion that never faltered, and in spite of his rapidly deteriorating condition, he managed to remain lucid and aware right up until the end. Bruno loved life and he loved people, and for him to be taken from us at such a young age is a tragedy that we will all suffer to come to terms with. The wonderful music he made will continue to inspire, and everyone whose life he touched (and there are many), will remember this unique and beautiful character with the deep love and respect that were the hallmark of Bruno's own attitude to life.
Bruno Adams: Born 02/09/1963, Bacchus Marsh, Australia. Died 18/04/2009 R.I.P. Berlin, Germany.
The date and time of Bruno's funeral has now been set, and all those wishing to pay their final respects are welcome to attend. The service will take place at 12 noon on Saturday 25th April at Kirchhof Alter Luisenstadt, Sudstern 8-12, Berlin 10961

How Do They Call It?
dear madams and sirs, we too aren’t sure how to call it. there have been lots of comparisons, suiting ones and others. from early roxy music via lou reed, past honourable dark – godfathers cave and cohen and cash, as far as element of crime who we at least share our mother-tongue with. these comparisons are quite unfair and stupidly common practice. it’s up to you to simply ignore them.
we make music first and foremost, paint our own pictures. though the paint is customary and the canvas bought, the smearing is ours.
sometimes we even build instruments.
on stage we’re mostly worth seeing and listening, driven by lust rather than flexed by burden, and our productions live off the wonderfully warm imponderabilities of playing/recording together.
how do you call what we have to play without being asked for?
Underground
the first official sign of life from the berlin based band infamis since their last album „zweitausendundvier“. After mini-tours from the elbe river mouth to lake Geneva, after many many hours in the good old rehearsing room.
a story in 4 songs. a human finds himself alone and through the dark cave-ways of his childhood and youth to the surface just to return bravely – disappointed to build a better underworld. the end stays befogged but is there a choice: “even remembrance is painful / but what does it good to stand here / not knowing and least of all wantingâ€.
lady and gentlemen of infamis present themselves stylistically versatile. there’s a ghostly spaghetti-western waltz, indie bossa nova with whistle pipe and a lot of klingklang, strange rhythm, tubular bells, banjo, guitars, guitars, guitars and even pop up to a finale that works hard for its name. one hears a band sweat.
the cd is wrapped in a 16 pages leporello in 7â€-format of artist uta richter from geneva where it is sold in art galleries.
in november 2008 first recordings were done for a new infamis album at the Danish north sea and so we’re looking forward to this, too.
