I enjoying the journey from dreams to manifestation currently residing the New York Area where my motto is: "Go Hard or Go Home!"I'm originally from Detroit, Michigan. I moved here in 2000 to pursue my dreams of fame, enterpirse, fortune and influence. I attended Fordham University College of Business...majored in marketing....minored in communications. I kept up a 3.5 average that could have been a 4.0 had I not been hustling my ass off trying to crack into the know in New York.When I moved here, I didn't know anybody. My days were school and work. My nights were parties, events, and meetings. Throwback jersies were the it thing, so I got my first New York job at the NBA Store in hopes of making connections in my fields of interest, which were entertainment, marketing, modeling at the time. The job didn't last too long. But I did make some good connects. During the summer of 2002, I interned in the Sony Epic International Marketing Department working on projects of soon to be stars. I was introduced into their fabulous lives while I was near broke, working for free, living in a 12'x8' summer dorm with no air and no closet space. The struggle was necessary for future appreciation and growth and I knew it, so I dealt with it.In the fall of 2002, I got called to do a Tommy Hilfiger fashion show in the Hamptons, where I met an interested agency rep who invited me to come to a casting at Club NV for a Seagram's Gin Live VJ. The guy was pompous and posed the opportunity as one to "just watch how they do their thing." I talked my way in with no I.D. and since I was already there, I auditioned. Funny, because before that, I was camera shy. As fate has it, I was chosen out of hundreds of people who auditioned in three cities to be the 2002 Seagram's Gin Live VJ. So what did that mean. That meant I could get about $15,000 in six weeks if I could convince myself not to be camera shy and my professors not to turn down my request to do work from the road for 6 weeks. $15,000 in six weeks in college...why not! So I did it and I did it well. I toured 29 cities with Jaheim, Truth Hurts and Biz Markie interviewing over 800 people on the "Walk of Fame," ridding my shyness and growing my passion and my confidence on camera.Summer 2003, I decided to do another internship...this time with Innercity Broadcasting. I worked in the marketing and promotions department as an assistant. That fall, I was offered a full time position as assistant to the director of marketing and promotions. I spread to doing side work assisting the WLIB Programming Director and working in the community service department. More connections, more growth, more experience.Spring 2004. I graduated. Great feeling. It was time to move on from Innercity Broadcasting, so I took a job as a national marketing and promotions director for Martell Cognac with Frontline Marketing. More connections, more growth, more experince, and even more interesting experiences. While working with Frontline, I continued to pursue my goals of hosting and modeling. I did gigs here and there. The most exciting was the opportunity to go down to DC and host the BET Jordan Capital Classic special with Kanye West. I worked with Frontline for a year while hustling and positioning myself for the next step because I knew I couldn't get stuck too long during a time when I was trying to move up so fast. I started my company Divinity Entertainment to support my event management for Martell Cognac and Seagram's Gin. I learned all I could, grew all I could and bounced.Currently, I am working for FIJI Water as their Southeast Marketing and Events Coordinator. It's keeping me busy, but I will continue growing my company and experience by freelancing and taking on subcontracts for larger marketing agencies and spirits companies, such as U.S. Concepts and Diageo and Eventive Marketing and Coors Light. I also write business and marketing plans and sponsorship proposals, do marketing consulting, event planning and management, brand management, event hosting, modeling, acting, and real estate investment.
