Get Your Own Voice Player ManageAloha Friends, My name is Michael and I was born and raised in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. Surfing, music and meeting people are 3 things that I am passionate about. I play keyboard, uke, guitar and sing. My father is a great artist and one of his paintings is on the cover of the Big Island phone book. My sister Elizabeth runs the gallery here in Kona and loves it because she gets to spend lots of time with us, her family. My mom is great. She is Greek and Italian and has beautiful red hair and a great sense of humor. I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers. I am writing all this for those of you that like to read. Myself, I prefer to look at photos or watch DVDs. I guess I am a visual learner. I do read some too. My favorite book is the Bible. I also like a good mystery story. I like trying to figure things out. It seems that my favorite question is why? One thing I wondered is, why are so many people getting diseases and feeling so lame all the time? Back when I was about 19 or 20, I lost a lot of my joy and energy and would just lie on the couch most of the day. My dad thought I was lazy and my mom wanted me to see a doctor. After the depression, I got real happy. Maybe a little too happy. I couldn't sleep that well and my mind raced. Everyone looked so beautiful and I wanted to travel the world and make millions of friends and millions of dollars. Songs came to me all the time and I felt like I was living in a dream. This is when my parents started to really worry. I went to the mental hospital for 17 days and got on a bunch of medication. Doctor man said I had Bipolar Disorder. I wasn't to fond of the drugs. They made me gain about 50 pounds of fat and I felt like my head was in a cloud. Well, I stopped taking them and then got depressed again for a few months and got on a new drug from a new Doctor. I was stable for 6 months and with my Doc's permission, I got of of this drug. Then my buddy told me about glyconutrients. He said, "It can't hurt you and it might help you." So I got on the stuff. First two weeks I felt like a little weird. My buddy said I was detoxing and needed to drink more water. So I did. Today people call me Water Bottle boy, because I always carry my water bottle around. It has a built in filter and I think it is so cool. It's like my security blanket. Well for over two years now, I have been off all medication. I sleep like a baby at night and feel great all day. I have my life back and my energy back.
