About Me

"I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life ... to put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." - Henry David Thoreau, 1854I'm half-Black, half-Korean. Grew up all around the world and wound up in Seattle about 8 years ago. I love being out here because I love the outdoors. I'm currently a technical consultant at a small consulting company in Redmond. I still consider myself an artist, though I've taken a hiatus from doing it for money. I get to do more personal work these days, and that can be way more gratifying. You can view my portfolio at www.xyzboy.com It's all stuff from school, nothing from work. But I'll update it eventually... hopefully when I have more work to show. :P
I can't say I'm where I though I'd be ten years ago, but that's a good thing. I've taken a winding road to get to where I am, but I like it here, and the journey has been a great one. I don't think you can live your life full-throttle the whole way through, but I think you should pack in as many good memories as you can... and take lots of pictures!

My Interests

Snowboarding, Computer Graphics (3D animation, Illustration, traditional art), hiking, biking, kickboxing, travel (I'm getting around to it).

Music:

Little bit of everything, but I love drum n bass, hip hop, electronica, anything 80's, or 70's... or even 60's. Anyway, my music library would probably surprise you, or make you laugh.

Movies:

There's too many... but some of my favorites: Last of the Mohicans, Fight Club, Trainspotting, 12 Monkeys, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Kill Bill, Seven Samurai...

Television:

I cut the cable off... too distracting. I wasn't getting anything done. Nowawdays I watch all the tv shows on dvd. Netflix is my friend. Currently hooked on Lost, Heroes, Battlestar Gallactica, Rome, and the Boondocks.

Books:

Trainspotting, Fight Club... it's been a while since I've had any time for recreational reading (reading's never been all that recreational for me anyway... more like a way to kill time). I had a list of "the 100 greatest books in literature" which I was going to go through and read. Crime and Punishment was good. Heart of Darkness was the longest 100 pages I've ever read in my life. My mistake was choosing War and Peace as the 3rd book. Unforunately, I'm the type of guy that can't move onto something else until I finish what's in front of me. Favorite book of all time... Dune.

Heroes:

My brother Stephen, for taking a bold, courageous, decadent & destructive new direction in life.
