a very good day to you. my name is jess, & for my sins i hail from the 'dirty northern' city of manchester. however, i am not prejudice against the dirty north, in fact, i am a proud part of it & so i study english in leeds. which is even further north than manchester.

i love all of my friends very much, they mean everything to me & i don't tell them this enough. have a gander at a few of the people who get me through my life:
my best friend is emily. she is an english rose with the soul of a black man & a heart of gold. without her my life would not be what it is & i would not be who i am. i like to read books of most forms, which is something that comes in handy during an english degree. however, being forced to read a novel in a week does detract slightly from the pleasure of the thing. i also like music, very much. my ipod can transform a boring walk into a musical march & i love it. i like to listen to the words of songs & often wish i could remember useful information as easily as i can remember lyrics.

i like daytime television, i find it comforting. & i like one-off dramas. i'm a sucker for a good emotive drama. i find people fascinating & thrive on company. i also find them baffling at times. arrogance, deliberate ignorance, prejudice & smugness are qualities that i cannot understand or abide.

i have a lot of empathy & worry about how people feel a lot. this causes a tendency to apologise a lot. i'm sorry for this.

i love to laugh until my stomach hurts & i can't breathe. i don't like responsibility or having to worry about money but i do like the independence that such things bring. in summer i always wish it was winter & in winter i am wishing for summer, i am doomed to be discontented all my days.

i believe in fate & in karma. i love to talk to people & find out about them & to learn from them. i hate breaking promises. i try to be honest with people but nice at the same time, sometimes this doesn't work. if i say something nice to you, i mean it. i don't pay unnecessary compliments. i believe that self-analysis is unhealthy.
