I really like books that leave you with something, that affect you in some small way, or allow you to think differently, at least for a period of time after having read the book. I really liked To Kill A Mocking Bird, its kind of a classic. The Long Walk by Richard Bachman (aka Steven King) was chilling yet intriguing. I am a fan of the Sword of Truth series as well as the nerdy Dragon Riders of Pern. Despite the many science fiction-y/fantasy books I also enjoy ones with perhaps more litery merit. I thought The Color Purple was fascinating, and The Davinci Code hard to put down (even thought I am Catholic and Brown bashes us). I like Bean Trees, and The Red Tent too. There are soo many books it is kind of depressing to think you will never even get to read some really good ones. But if you have anything to reccomend, please do.
