Cursive writing John Hancock would envy,
I breathe in calligraphy,
I mumble in haiku,
Capturing paragraphs in invisible ink,
A pen filled with pure air.
I write novels on your mind,
Warning notices on your eyes to make you aware,
I write persuasive essays on the tablet
Of your heart in permanent ink,
So that it may follow you wherever you may go,
And warn you of your steps every time you blink.My words are spoken in a collective jargon,
Heard by all yet understood by few,
But it describes everyone and every aspect,
And every genre from the old to the new.
It is ironic how the ones who refuse to read,
Those who skip the paragraphs,
Those are the ones most affected by what is written
When the reality of those words does its deed,
And it can’t be erased or edited,
The pages can’t be torn out of any book.My words are spoken on every level of formality,
From the broad spectrum of the driven dreamer
To the small world of the spoiled and ignorant,
Not one word is misspelled
And not one sentence fragmented.
I have other inventive techniques than pills,
If Herman Melville was swallowed by Moby Dick
In a hurricane with Albert Einstein
They couldn’t think of a better brainstorm than mine,
When I talk in my sleep,
I’m jotting down ideas to speak in the morning,
And even if it comes off as illogical fallacies,
Sooner or later you’ll receive them as reality.
My words are spoken in color,
But they are not spoken in crayon,
I write with a combination of chisel, pen, and feather,
I can cut you, color you, or tickle you
I can sculpt your body into Rushmore,
I can draw your mind into Van Gogh’s The Sower,
I can take your soul higher than the wings of an eagle,
Catching the wind currents on white clouds,
Watching my penmanship come to life
On this colorful Earth as you look down,
Greens and browns and reds and blues,
Floating on the atmosphere,
So thick you can cut thru it,
Yet it all seems so clear.
Don’t mistake my mixed metaphors
With misplaced modifiers,
You’re still thinking with your Common mind,
But one day it’ll all make sense.My words are spoken with the perfect penmanship,
Written in ink that never bleeds,
Written on paper that never folds,
Written with grammar that doesn’t need spell check
Even if it is spelled incorrectly,
Because truth can be sought thru my simple flaws,
It is all written in a determining diction,
Answering all presumed interrogative pronouns,
