My roots lie in Yreka, CA, out on a ranch near a little town called Grenada. I love the "small town" feel, but I needed to spread my wings and that's how I found myself in Chico, CA... have been glad to say "Chico Is My Hometown" for 10 years now...whew! Chico is growing, but it still has it's small town intimacy; strangers will still look you in the eye and say,"Hi" or give a simple smile. You know, any place can have a small town feel...it just starts with each individual in the community to spread that warm hospitable feeling. My husband, Matt, and I will be celebrating our 7 year anniversary soon and we are absolutely in love with our son, Owen. Being a parent is the single most amazing thing; it enables you to live life and discover the mysteries of the world for a second time.... but this time you have time to appreciate the journey through your little one's eyes. Having a child is the Lord's best gift; you will never look at life the same. Before we had our little Owen, I taught Jr. High social science (7th and 8th).... LOVE them!!! Oh my goodness, you want to talk about never having a boring day...whew! I am very active, outgoing, love to work out, love to be hands on, organized, love to make people smile, I am also slightly stubborn ;) and believe in having integrity, I am tough but hateful/spiteful words do hurt, and have come to the conclusion as I have walked through this world that there are some people that will hurt you and find pleasure in your unhappiness.... for them may they find the Lord's blessing and through His love live a happier life.
