Mist on the Bog

About Me

We are a four piece traditional Irish band based in Portsmouth, Hants in the south of England. We have our own PA and play a wide range of venues including folk clubs, pubs, weddings, wakes, charity and corporate 'dos'...in fact we'll try anything within reason! We also play some contemporary music, mainly, once again, from Ireland, but other Celtic music appears too. We do have an occasional bodhran player, but definitely no bass or drums - we try to keep as 'trad' as possible.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Mick Daish plays guitar , sings and conducts the audience with a wicked sense of humour. Tim Gay blows the sweetest flutes and whistles; he's had loads of practice. Simon Cattermole plays bouzouki, banjo and guitar with a bit of whistle thrown in and sings quite a bit too. Debs Peake plays fiddle, and enhances the overall musicality of the band, and introduces us to some new stuff too. We're all looking forward to getting out there and playing, check our gig list and we hope to see you soon.
Sounds Like: A mixture of traditional Irish bands such as Planxty, The Bothy Band, Danu with the occasional bit of Poguery thrown in too, cos audiences like it.
