I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Newspaper copy editor/op-ed columnist, member of the National Association to Protect Children , Unitarian Universalist and Ethical Culture in religious affiliation.
I keep a Livejournal blog for political, pop-culture and day to day content and a Blogger account for posting short fiction.
I also maintain the Unitarian Universalist Podcast Directory . Unitarian Universalism is a creedless religion; no particular set of religious views is required to be a member, just an open mind and respect for others' points of view, and a desire to pursue justice and improve the lives of others.
In that spirit, I share this link:
I've never met the woman, but her need is great. She's a victim of our nation's medical crisis, a woman who needs surgery but has been denied it by her insurance provider. I hope you'll do what you can to help her out. As the Torah says, whoever saves one life saves the entire world.
My political preferences lean very heavily toward Democrats and Greens, though I'll support just about any candidate who works toward tougher penalties against the offenders and stronger tools for helping victims of abuse recover without perpetuating the chain of abuse. That should be the first priority of any elected official -- of any human being -- rather than the afterthought it so often proves to be.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I see now this should be less star-struck than it was earlier. So ... people who share a dedication to making life as hard as possible for those who harm children; artistic types; and, generally, people who are on the moderate to liberal side politically and religiously. I DO have some friends who are on the conservative side, but if we're talking about being able to talk openly without someone getting called a fascist or amoral, common ground is ideal. And I'd like YOU to meet the group doing the most important work in America today:
