Hmm, not much to say really, my name is Alex, although most people call me Gilroy, I hail from a village in East Lancashire named Trawden. I've just aquired a 2:1 in my Biology degree, my sense of humor is somewhat politically incorrect, I enjoy drinking beer (perhaps a little too much), and I love to widdle on my guitar. I've been very lucky to meet my Girlfriend Zuleira, she is a wonderful person and I love her to bits. I love collecting guitars and biology, specifically physiology and medical microbiology, I find stem cell research very interesting too. Some of my favourite pathogenic strains of bacteria and viruses include Clostridium perfringens, Bacillus anthracis, Treponema pallidum , the Ebola virus, the Marburg virus (and pretty much any other virus that enduces haemorrhagic fever) and Yersinia pestis. Sounds quite boring, but I guess their redeeming feature (in my perverse eyes at least) is that they cause some pretty horrific diseases!
I've just received my results for my degree, managed to get a 2:1, all the hard work paid off! I love partying with my mates and anyone whos sound and shares similar interests, I tend to think I'm easy to get along with. As I've already mentioned, I love playing guitar, I really want to get in more bands but seems everyone is too busy! I love photography, just got my first DSLR camera and I'm loving it so far! I love going to festivals and gigs, and generally anywhere that involves good music and copious amounts of alcohol. Some people might think I'm ignorant as I generally stare at my feet if I don't know anyone around me, but thats just my lack of confidence, talk to me and I'll talk back!
"It is not suprising that many people feel that society has a rather hypocritical attitude to psychotropic substances: condeming illicit substances on the one hand while condoning the wide-scale use of alcohol on the other." - Dr. Simon Wills, Drugs of Abuse
