The Drag

It's not where you're from, it's where you're at.

About Me

Formed in 1992, The Drag was South Carolina's pre-eminent rock band. Surrounded by Hooties and lame-o Melons in the Palmetto state, the Drag stood out for it's catchy yet noisy pop and was known for it's incendiary live shows. After 9 years of touring and releasing ep's and albums on independent and major labels, the band took a permanent hiatus. The Drag has performed a couple of shows since 2001 and there is always the remote possibility of occasional shows in the future. The band still has many fans, and the intention of this myspace site is to give those fans a central place to trade stories, etc. We encourage you to share show experiences or anything you wish related to the band in the comments section. The songs posted here are all unreleased and are from various sessions throughout the years. The band hopes to release a cache of material over the next couple of years as downloads (assuming there's interest...) and a book of photos culled by band historian Forrest Wimberley is also in the works... This site is maintained by Rob Gainer, who was the band's engineer and tour manager from the beginning. We will try to expand the information as time permits, so check back from time to time as this will be a slowly-evolving process. Also, if you have any good pictures of the band, please email them to this site and we will try to post them. Please check out the band members' current projects, all here on Myspace:Trey - Fabulous Bird, The Envelopes, King of Prussia; Chance - The Lord is My Shotgun; Chris and Nick - Grace Cathedral Park
