About Me

The purpose of the Black Student Union (BSU) is to develop, implement and perpetuate a complete program to identify and address the educational, economic, political and cultural concerns of students of African descent. BSU is dedicated to the development of leadership skills of students by promoting political, academic, culture/community and economic empowerment.The organization accomplishes its goals and objectives through the PACE plan. PACE is an acronym for Political, Academic, Community/Culture and Economic development.POLITICAL Promoting the involvement with and monitoring of local, state, and national issues that affect people of African descent in the political arena.ACADEMIC Developing programs and activities geared toward recruiting, retaining, and graduating students of African descent at all levels of education.CULTURE Developing programs and activities that enhance cultural development and maintain an autonomous community.ECONOMIC Stimulating public and private interest in FAASAs activities and programs with emphasis on, but not limited to, financial entrepreneurship among members and supporting businesses and civic organizations.
