I am here for Friends

About Me

If you're here, you already have opinions about me. You've seen me through your own idiosyncratically erratic vision, and have imprinted an idea of me into your brain. Each one of you has a different reality as to whom I am. I exist in a thousand different ways, each as unique as its author. None of these are wrong, nor are they correct.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

John Lennon, Audie Murphy, Harry Truman, and Frank Sinatra. Unfortunately all four are dead. I'd like to have a few beers and go hunting with Dick Cheney. I'd like to spend a day with a world famous Brazilian soccer player whose name and accomplishments I have never learned of. I'd like to smoke a cigar with Castro, say the Pledge of Allegiance with Dubya while reading the words off his teleprompter, and drink a pint of Guinness and sing a few bars of "God Save The Queen" with Tony Blair, all in the same day. I'd like to sing Karaoke with the surviving member of Milli Vanilli, play guitar on "Across the Universe" and "Something" with Paul McCartney on bass and Ringo Starr on drums, creep in the shadows wearing a trenchcoat and smoking Marlboros with W. Mark Felt, and give Cindy Sheehan a hug. I'd like to draw stick figures with Chuck Jones, make Play-Doh monsters with Ray Harryhausen, and play charades with Tom Hanks. And of course, let's not forget George Lucas, who has given me more joy in life than any person who doesn't know I exist. More than anybody, I'd like to shake his hand and thank him (even for the prequels.)

"The War Prayer" by Mark Twain

It was a time of great and exalting excitement. The country was up in arms, the war was on, in every breast burned the holy fire of patriotism; the drums were beating, the bands playing, the to...

Where have all the good men gone and where are all the Gods?

Usually, my blog entries are somewhat thought-out and formatted.  I'll start by telling a little story on anecdote, and segue that into the point of my essay.  But none (or rather, no more t...
