I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I’m a country-born girl who loves living in the city ghetto. I live for art but can't define it. I listen to Tori Amos and Ani Difranco as much as I listen to Nas and Masta Ace. I’m unbelievably cynical but impossibly hopeful. I can quote as much from Will Ferrell movies, SNL and the Simpsons as I can from Foucault, Barthes and Baudrillard. I could just as soon club hard until 8 am as I could spend an entire day in the university library. I obsess as much about my tattoo as I do about writing my thesis. In my eyes, Allison Krauss is as cool as System of a Down. My dream vacation would be a week going crazy in high-tech Tokyo then climbing the ancient pyramids in the jungles of Guatemala. An hour kicking ass in Capoeira makes me feel as good as an hour meditating with incense. I’m quick to forgive, but I hold angry grudges for years. I hate George Bush, most things republican, the religous right and military spending, but I love the U.S. and get quite upset when my Canadian friends and colleagues start in with the American-bashing. There’s equal room in my heart for a good ol’ esoteric art flick with a depressing ending AND cheesy stuff from my 80s childhood like Knight Rider, Van Halen and The A-Team. I jones for Taco Bell and cheap beer as much as I do for organic/vegan Commensal dinners and expensive wine. I’m a lesson in the harmony of contradictions…that’s where the fun lies. P.S. I LOOOOOOVE Obama....keep hoping people.

My Interests

I'm writing my Master's thesis right now at Concordia University on Native American Performance art and contemporary dance, so I always like to hear about new shows, articles, issues from that community--- I'm a DCI/WGI freak (Xmen 00-02, Brigs 03, 05, Premier 94-98, Interplay 99-02, Pride of Cin. 03, Sonnor 05, Blessed Sac 06). I love art that makes people uncomfortable and I also have a slight obsession with the artist Matthew Barney, so I always like to know what that hottie is up to (aside from screwing Bjork). I collect quotes...like this one: "I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet."-Gahndi. I'm taking a season off from winterguard/colorguard after about 14 seasons :( so Capoeira is my new fitnessy/life-obsession thing. It is the bee's knees. .. --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> -->> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> --> START YOUTHINK.COM QUIZ RESULTS -->
