Soon-to-be Mrs. Brown!

I am here for Friends

About Me

..

Softkey Left softkey Right ..I am:

A lover AND a fighter.

A blend of contradictions and tastes.

Realistic.
Optimistic.
Aggressive.
Laid-back.
Inquisitive.
Domestic.
Unconventional.

Loved.
Blessed.
Joyful.
Thankful.

I'm starting a new life. In May, I left the job I'd been at for over two years. Great people, great pay, and tremendous growth opportunities. I left my family, my fantastic friends, and the home I'd known for fourteen years. I packed up, moved to Orange County, and started working with kids. I've got a fulfilling job, a great roommate, and an amazing boyfriend. This is a good life, and it's only getting better.UPDATE: Change the "boyfriend" to "fiance" and add a wedding in June to the "new life" part. :).. Read my VisualDNA ™ Get your own VisualDNA™

My Interests

Jesus, Natalie (the bestest) and my wonderful parents, and CJB.

OLD friends (Andrea!), JS friends (Lissy, Trisha, Josh, and the rest), and the 'Crew' (Josh Rad, Lauren, Christie, Chandra, Casey)--find us at the 'Bees when I'm in town.

I love the following:

Singing with the windows down. Dancing under the stars. Speaking French and Italian. Teaching kids. Classic movies. Greeting one another with a "brotherly kiss." Politics. Psychology. Philosophy. Turning on SportsCenter without thinking twice. Learning to love baseball (Go A's!). Always loving football. Naptime. Reading for hours. Traveling. Living ten minutes from the beach.

I do NOT love: Jell-O. Any kind of Asian food. Food with faces still visible. Parking three blocks from my apartment at midnight. People who wear vanilla or VS Garden products exclusively. Celebrities who are famous for being famous. Michael Moore. Spelling and grammar mistakes. People who don't know the difference between your and you're. People who say "I don't watch TV" to make themselves sound intellectual. They probably don't read, either. The question "Do you want fries with that?" The answer is always, unequivocally "yes."

I'd like to meet:

The Maestro.

Music:

Eclectic. In any given day, I'll listen to a wide range of genres. Start the day off with a little Stevie Wonder or Michael Buble to wake me up. Throughout the day, I'll listen to Incubus, John Mayer, Copeland, Ray LaMontagne, and wide variety of oldies and whatever's on KIIS at the moment. A bubble bath and some Frank Sinatra to wind down. Dinner-making music is Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, or Rosemary Clooney. And I close out the night with Beethoven, Tchaikovsy, Bach and Mozart.

Movies:

Chocolat. Anchorman. The Little Mermaid. Love, Actually. Snatch. Fight Club. Troy. Mr. and Mrs. Smith. My Best Friend's Wedding.

Television:

Anything created by JJ Abrams...specifically, Alias and Lost.

Also, Friends, Seinfeld, The Office, and Grey's Anatomy.

And there's a special place in my heart for those that left us too quickly: Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development. Here's lookin' at you, kids.

Books:

SO many. I'm a voracious reader.

My Blog

Singers you should know.

I don't know where to begin. By genre? By decade? Alphabetical order?   Ok, I've decided. Just vague-ish categories.   If you like Sinatra: Rosemary Clooney Jane Monheit Diana Krall And, of ...

Random Mitch-isms.

I saw this wino, he was eating grapes. I was like, "Dude, you have to wait." I saw on HBO, they were advertising this boxing match. They said "It's a fight to the finish." That's a good place to end. ...

If it's good enough for my hero...

My hero. JJ Abrams, creator of "Alias" and "Lost." Ahh...genius. Anyways, he did a Q&A with LA Confidential, so I will too. Maybe some of that genius will rub off on me. Or I'll get to rub up on...
