This is a Dragon appreciation page. They are one of the most fierce and interesting mythological creatures. They are actually reptiles, and can be classified in many different ways. One of the most common ways of classifying dragons is color, and they come in almost any possible color. Most of the time a dragon's color reflects its abilities. For example, a red dragon typically breathes fire and a blue dragon usually breathes ice or lightning.
Dragons can either be kind and benevolent or fierce fighters. Some protect people while others seek to destroy them. They have been known to attack countrysides or castles until they are defeated by a warrior or given a sacrifice. Typically, they live in caves and amass huge collections of gold and valuables. This is usually why they are hunted. The warrior who kills a dragon would receive all its riches.
A dragon's life span is hard to judge. They have been known to live over 1000 years. However, none have died from old age. They usually are killed as a result of some disease or being killed by humans.
