About Me

I was born and raised in Iran and moved to The States when I was 13 years old. I started playing hand drums at an early age. I had my first public performance when I was 9 years old in front of my elementary school. Besides always beating on random things I sort of stopped playing music when I moved here. I was spending all my time trying to learn the language, work and go to school. I didn't get back into music till my junior year in high school when I got my first drumset. I spent the next two years practicing in my garage trying to mimmick all the classic rock greats like zepplin and Sabbath. The first person that I collaborated with was my good friend Joey who was in my theater class at the junior college. One day in class he noticed me drumming away on something and he invited to his house for a jam session, I remember him pulling a fat stack of papers out of his backpack and started playing me his songs one by one, joey is one of the most prolific songwriters I've ever met. My friend Joey is now the lead singer of Fat Skeleton, which is one of best and well known rock bands in the valley. Since then I've worked on several recording projects, and have preformed at various venues in the Central Valley, such as the State Theater, The West side Theater and the Fat Cat Music Launge just to name a few. I'm currently preforming with Rachel Renae, and have also been featured on her newly released album "Music Junkie".OTHER BANDS I"VE WORKED WITH:Lissangaa Fat Skeleton Shelly Bort Dave Hanley Band The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit Joyride PanhandleVENUES I"VE PREFORMED INThe State Theater The Fat Cat The West Side Theater Axe and Fiddle The Starry Plough The Fremont Festival of Arts The Modesto Art and Wine Festival Hero's Clayton's Cafe The Cow Track The Plough and Stars MySpace Backgrounds

Influences: Growing up in Iran I was introduced to traditional music not only from Iran, but from all over the Middle East. Later on when I moved to the US, first genre of music that really grasped my attention was classic rock. I was listening to pretty much anything that I could get my hands on from The 60s or 70s. The next stage was Jazz, getting introduced to the legends like Charley Parker, Dizzy, and Miles Davis plus many others. The stage after Jazz was naturally hip hop. I could go on and on about artists that I consider influential, but when it really comes down to it I get all my music from my friends.
