Stuff About Me
Thanks for stopping in...
I'm a Guitarist, Drummer, Electrical Engineer and Sound Engineer from Cleveland, Ohio. I have been playing in the Orange and Los Angeles County club circuit since 1997. Currently I am the Audio Engineer at Ultimate Ears; I took over for Jerry Harvey 2.5 years ago and designed the audio signatures for the UE700, the UE4 Pro and the Super.Fi 5 headsets.
Prior to moving to the LA area, I played in working bands in Cleveland, Columbus and Indianapolis. I earned food money during my senior year in college at Ohio State by playing fine establishments like:
The Distillery
The South Heidelberg
The South Station
Ruby Tuesdays
with the following bands:
Bishop's Past
Northwind
Several times these bands opened up for a very popular regional band named The Royal Crescent Mob.
During my time in Indianapolis, I played with the very busy Pryme Tyme band holding down two week engagements at several of the Indianapolis area Holiday Inn rock clubs as well as many one and two nighters at local clubs like:
McAboos Indy Gun & Knife Club Floyd and Verlenes 2001 ClubDuring this two year period it is estimated that Joe played over 100 paid gigs.Upon relocating to Southern California, Joe hooked up with the original band called Big Forest for a 1 year long stint of playing the strip and other original clubs including:The Coconut Teaszer The Shack Club 369 The Whiskey Rude Dogs The RoadhouseBig Forest opened for a wide range of bands during 1997/1998 including Gene Loves Jezebel, Bulletboys, Phil Lewis Band, LA Guns and the very popular David Lee Roth era Van Halen tribute band, The Atomic Punks.Following his stint in Big Forest, Joe played with cover band, Just Cause in SoCal at clubs likeThe Sports Page The Press Box Cooks Corner Fox's On The River The Canyon Inn Perq'sThen in 2002, Joe joined the very popular cover band named 303....Along with Kurt, Trish (RIP) and Jim he performed over 200 shows in 2 years at the following SoCal clubs:The Canyon Inn Loffler's Aloha J's Pepe's Soboba Casino Lake Alice The Corner Pocket Law's The Iron Wok The Sports Stop Pounders Ohara's Roadhouse The Bikini Beach ClubWhich brings us to the period from 2004 to 2009 where JOE has been performing with a local SoCal phenomenon called Liquorbachs...In 5 years Liquorbachs has performed over 200 gigs at clubs like:About 11 years ago I moved to Los Angeles because there are solid opportunities in the field I was educated and in which I still work. I like the balance of being a professional and a working musician. LA is great because I can be outside all year long and don't have to deal with the long cold winters of my Cleveland. When I'm not working or playing, I enjoy riding motorcycles, working on my house, playing/writing/recording music, watching movies and taking my dog on "safari". Also, I have to say, I love Home Depot!
My life revolves around working hard and trying my best at what I do. I'm always working to maintain a high level of integrity.
That's the nickel tour. Check the upcoming show schedule to see when and where you can catch me in Southern California.
