Bio
Terminal illness was born Ryan Caldararo on Long Island, New York in the year 1989. As a young boy, Terminal was into things such as quads, wrestling, and music, just as many of us were. But music was always the fuel to Terminal's fire. "I started out listening to mainly rock music" says the emcee from Watertown, New York. "But one day I heard an Eminem song on the radio and I remember falling in love with it. That's when I realized that in hip hop, you can say and do whatever you want." This realization had a major impact on Terminal's musical interests, and around the age of 10 he began producing with Fruity Loops, and occasionally venturing into the lyrical side of things. The first track Terminal ever recorded was with one of his best friends Brett. "He's the one who really got me into spitting" says Terminal. "We would record over industry tracks with a karaoke machine, so needless to say it was extremely wack." At this age, Terminal was consistently making music and trying to progress as a rapper, but he lacked lyrical ability, which led him to focusing on production over rhymes. "I was more focused on the musical aspect of hip hop," says Terminal, "and I wasn't much of a lyricist." However, in the coming years, that would soon change. At age 15, Terminal's family moved upstate, much to his dislike. "I was so angry, because it was the last thing in the world I wanted to do. We didn't have a house for a while, so we stayed with family, and for a 3 month period at a little camp in the middle of nowhere" says Terminal of his first few months upstate. "It was rough and I constantly found myself writing in a little notebook that I always had with me." This was when Terminal's lyrical skills really started to come full circle. "I guess there are certain events in life that bring out the best in you." Terminal soon moved to Watertown, where he continued making music and taking advantage of the Internet as a great resource, and a connection to other artists. He began participating in online rap battles, but grew tired of them early into it. "I did a few battles but nothing too serious. I started to realize that, that kind of stuff doesn't improve you. I wanted to be more than a punchline rapper, I wanted to create real songs with real meanings to them, whether or not they were evident to everyone." This progression has made itself clear in Terminal's music, and birthed a style that combines many creative elements into each song.Terminal illness represents hip hop with a deeper message, and continues to create thought-provoking tracks with countless artists around the country. His association with Greene Kash Records and Hop Hip Records has connected him with incredibly talented artists who share the same passion for music that Terminal has. Terminal is always down to collaborate with artists and producers. He can be contacted on AOL Instant Messenger at t3rminalillness, or you can email him at
