very own MySpace Layouts When I was a kid I met a man who traded me a handful of beans for a pair of shoes and my lunch money. I took those beans and planted them hoping I could grow a plant to the sky, just like in a book I had read. Instead, I got a dried up bean sprout and a dirty pair of socks. In time I grew up and learned the true cost of beans. I experienced the life that a small town kid would. I couldn’t leave the neighborhood without mama’s permission, and I never took a towel to the city pool. I still have a collection, somewhere, of every movie ticket I bought that allowed me to steal a kiss in the back row and the junior high dances always required a splash of my brother’s cologne. I spent a lot of time hanging out down by the Rio Grande. When I was young we would go swim and shoot the guns down past the channel and I remember racing my dad’s pinche white truck down the ditch banks. As I grew older we would drive to multiple named areas. We would drink, laugh, smoke, and if we were lucky……we could leave before the police showed up. After enough time I was fed up with the small town life and went on to pursue the next level of life. College lasted five years and during this time I was able to meet some people far greater than magic beans. We had our good times, we also had our dramatic times as well. The turkeys were always well cooked and the trips provided some good pics. Now I find myself living in the hottest of cities. I work on a regular basis and try to find some time drink a beer or two. Every once in a while you can find the brothers Gunzawless supplying the music at your local business place. You are always welcomed to stop by enjoy the tunes. I am still looking for those magic beans that will take me to the sky and make me rich, but next time I am keeping my shoes.
