THE BEGINNING
In the aisles of a small, obscure California manga shop, time stood still for just one moment. As the piercing sounds of a Signum remix pulsated through the large, dusty speakers, a life long love of trance music was born. In that one euphoric instant, all else was quickly forgotten as intoxicating trance vocals and synthetic patterns overtook Adymus…thus forming an unbreakable bond between man and music…
THE BACKGROUND
Born in Huntington Beach California in 1985, Adymus took an early interest in a wide variety of electronic music styles, acquiring as many tracks and compilations as he could find. During a period of critiquing and annotating exactly how tracks were matched and cross-faded, Adymus quickly immersed himself into an illustrious DJ world while developing his own taste within the genre. As new song ideas grew, so did his longing to produce solid, meaningful music…
To avoid a tainted reputation from unpolished, amateur tracks, Adymus wisely remained indiscrete during high school, only allowing close friends to critique tracks while knowing his time would soon come…
Project Adymus was created and placed on hold, but never forgotten…
THE VISION
Gazing upon adrenaline filled pictures of trance legends at work, Adymus dreamed of impacting the trance community in a similar manner, energizing and empowering large crowds through the energy of the trance he created. Experimenting with FL Studio 4 programs, Adymus began sampling different styles and forming his own unique sound. While his creations were original, they lacked a substance and technical precision that only formal training can offer. Adymus subsequently enrolled at Fullerton College in a plethora of production and recording classes. The results were amazing…
Collaborating with fellow trance producer Michael Escobedo, Adymus fine-tuned his skill and the two formed Ambrosial, which included their collective efforts in a trance union. After being aired by Koris vs DJule, Ambrosial’s track Sunshift experienced overnight success, being shipped from Arther Schmidt of Basic Perspective to Markus Shulz. Sunshift was featured two weeks in a row on Global DJ Broadcast before being signed by Shulz and included in Shulz’s album Ibiza 06.
As the excitement grew, so did Adymus’ flare for his music. Despite Ambrosial’s swift and steady success, Adymus and Escobedo collectively decided to separate to effectively maximize both of their talents and diverse music styles.
THE PURPOSE
While trance began as a club/rave phenomenon that functioned only as a means to dance, the mid 90’s rendered a rebirth of the genre, evolving into a medium that can readily be enjoyed in the car, office, or on the trail during a jog. Adymus seeks to find the golden mean between the two by creating music that isn’t merely enjoyed in a club atmosphere, but is appreciated in any atmosphere by all kinds of people, thus maximizing the potential of both.
In a highly competitive and rapidly evolving world of electronic music, Adymus relentlessly attempts to create and produce music that gives the same encouragement and inspiration to future trance artists and fans that current superstars have given him.
