About Me
The story of BadsmeLL starts in the year 1999,where a group of friends dedcided to form
a group,or in music term a band!!(not a boy band ok!!)They chose
the "punk rock genre" because it is fun and enjoyable.(to them,that is..)
The first line-up consists of Mamat,who is now making a name with Ellisable
tears(hang sempoi wei!!)played the drum,Man Jamie on lead guitar,Oriess on
the bass,Didies on 2nd guitar,and Agus contributing his voice to the band
without a name at that time.Nothing serious going on,just a bunch
of buddies hangin out,havin a hell of a time at the studio.Bad religion,NOFX,and green day
are a few names that they looked up to at that time(who doesn't eh?).It was smooth sailing from
there until the year 2000 where they decided to focus on personal and non-personal matters at
hand(you don't wanna know..).After a few months without doing things that involves guitars
and what not,they began feeling bored to 'THE MAX",or in technical terms,SANGAP!!
They decided to play again,for the love of music.But this time,with only 4 members.Mamat made his way
out of the band leaving the rest to 'reformat' the band.Man jamie took his place as the drum MAN
.Then Agus left the band on reasons that i cannot mention.(the band starts feeling like they're
cursed).With only 3 members left, they finally found a name for the band, 3 PIECES OF SHIT.(2002)
But the sun shined at the 3 pieces of shit when a new drummer and vocal was found.(HOORAY!!)
Dan(vocal) and Amy(drums) came out from nowhere and joined the band,making the line-up from 3 P.O.S to 5!!
(whew,thats a lot of shit laying around in one place..shits!).So the name finally changed to
what it is now,BadSmell(still has something to do with shit..go figure..).How they got the name?
Beats me..i only know that they are into sports,so maybe after they finished playing whatever sports they
play,their body tend to develop nasty odours,i.e BADSMELL!!(2004)
The year 2004 was a promising year for them where they got invited to play at the ASIAN x-GAMES
Concert in KL by a friend,Ian Johann Arief(skatanix).This was their 1st ever show,and they did quite well
playing cover songs from their favourite bands and minus the "tiang bendera" that could sing..(huh?)
After that first experiance on stage,they played a number of gigs,but...(JENG,JENG,jeng),without the aid of
Dan on vocals who made the decision to quit the band(which he regretted) due to education matter.Another
problem came and solved immediately with the arrival of Jama on the mic.(hip hip hooray!!)And like history
repeating itself,another member decided to quit the band,Didies,due to personal issues(may the force be with you).
And when destiny calls upon you,What do you do?You answer it lah..Dan came back to fill the spot that didies
left to make the band whole again and he come back for replace 2nd guitar position after dan to leave out,who is now to be a pro skateboarder in malaysia(selamat maju jaya dan!!..dgk all day!..).and same situation,hories decide to quit the band and nory from the max-x replace him.
So this time around,the current line up is Jama on vox,Man Jamie on lead guitar
,Didies on 2nd guitar,Nory on bass,and Amy on drums.Hope that this line up will stay the way it is now.
