IVENA is a unit housing a series of audio and audio/visual projects, founding members deprivedanxiety and One Infected built IVENA as a clear way of defining what they both already did musically and visually, collaborative works had been on the cards for a long time and pushing everything in a joint direction was heavily discussed. The birth of IVENA, came from this...One Infected, an active fine artist and designer from the Leicester area had spent years looking for a way to tame and potentially fire his work out on a larger level... Spending years on the underground art scene and working for a range of different designers and musicians, his music took a backseat. It wasn’t until 2003 when he discovered a small hip hop crew from King’s Lynn “cutting off fingerz†that he began to discuss likeminded ideas with the newest member deprivedanxiety.With the falling apart of cutting off fingerz 2 years later after the “so they put jack in a box cause he knew too much†ep the remaining members deprivedanxiety and JaDe.D.SYN discussed new directions for their music. One Infected had begun to shift his working practise into an audio project under the name Big God Small. It was at this point that deprivedanxiety and Big God Small collaborated to create IVENA. Pulling everything in that they knew from every side they began work, getting on board not only JaDe.D.SYN, but Slack happenings, an ex-punk drummer, fine artist and long time friend of deprivedanxiety.Today IVENA works as a collective, evolving and changing the same as any record label, discussing and building new projects as and where they see fit. Now as a whole the main focus is not just to complete master and finish new material, but to send it out to any and every open ear free of charge.Thanks for listeningIVENA
