About Me

Dalila Ali Rajah, creator and co-producer of the hit talk show Cherry Bomb! which airs on MTV/LOGO owned www.afterellen.com, www.logoonline.com, and www.downelink.com, is a graduate of California Institute of the Arts with an MFA in acting. She made her first foray into producing film with the short "echoes", and between Cherry Bomb! shoots she is in development for her second undertaking as film producer with the sexy self-penned short, Secrets & Toys. She was last seen on stage in "Blubonnet Court", winner of the GLAAD award for "Outstanding Los Angeles Theatre", and also appears in "Darwin Awards" starring Winona Ryder and Joseph Fiennes.
She began her journey on this path at age 6 by writing, producing, and acting in shows that she and her cousins put on for family and neighborhood gatherings. She continued on it by following in the footsteps of five generations of women from her family and attending Spelman College, receiving her BA in theatre.
She is a published poet, dancer, and spoken word artist. Whether Dalila Ali Rajah is lighting up the stage with mesmerizing dance moves or her critically acclaimed acting skills, she is simply a joy to watch.
This all about Renaissance woman also paints and life-coaches; providing insightful intuitive guidance through her Faerie Card Readings and energetic healing work. She is a wonderful mixture of sandalwood, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper that draws every audience in a single breath – if you get a chance to take one.
Below you will find some of what critics had to say about Dalila's portrayal of Orla Mae Bird in Zsa Zsa Gershick's "Bluebonnet Court":
"Rajah is excellent as well in a multi-layered turn: She's deferential toward her employers, quietly seductive with Helen and finally nervously brave -- a subtle and affecting portrayal.” - Variety
“Orla Mae, the noble, downtrodden, underappreciated black woman, is simply lovely as played by Rajah, never falling prey to the character's virtues.” - Backstage West
“...owner Lila Jean (Jamey Hood), all teeth and chat, tends to her troubled veteran husband (Jonathan Nail) with the help of a restless African American maid (the lovely Dalila Ali Rajah).” - LA Times
“With a winning cast and sweet summer romance, "Bluebonnet Court" is a mighty cozy place to spend the night.” - LA Times
“…a fine production, powered by Cohen’s and Rajah’s excellent performances, which bring to life a tenuous, aching attraction between their two characters.”– LA Weekly
"Ali Rajah brings a lovely presence to Orla Mae — a character whose complex negotiations with prejudice and inner authenticity are perceptively defined." - The Advocate
“Dalila Ali Rajah is awe inspiring as the beautiful, educated, over qualified Negro hotel maid, held back in society by her color.” - Tolucan Times
